In my opinion these are his fight options;

At SMW
Martin Murray
James Degale
Felix Sturm
Daniel Jacobs
Gennady Golovkin
Andre Ward (in Vegas or London)

At light heavy
Bernard Hopkins
Juergen Braehmer
Sergey Kovalev

Either fight one of them, call one of them out or retire.

Personally I'd like to see Froch vs Martin Murray at Nottingham's ground in July for the vacant IBO SMW world title.

If Klitschko, Golovkin etc can be the IBO champ why couldn't Froch vs Murray be for the vacant IBO title, they don't do mandatory's so he wouldn't have to worry about being stripped of his title while he waits to decide if he wants to fight again. He did state in Vegas last week he has got 3 fights left in him.

Plus lets not forget Hatton vs Pacquaio was for the IBO and ring title.

For the money that Froch wants to earn for me its only Degale if he wins the world title or Hopkins at LH or SMW. Also the Hopkins fight could be in Vegas.
Other than that retire.

I like the idea of a Murray fight aslong as Golovkin stops messing about at middleweight and moves up to super mid. A win over Murray for Froch could be a good lil set up for Froch v Golovkin.

If i was froch I'd stay well away from Hopkins its a lose lose really. If he was to win ppl would say he won against a 50yr old man. Bhop is a Wiley old fox who I'd fancy to spoil and sneak a win against froch.

Degale , Ward , Sturm

Can't see beyond those 3 names really.

Sturm because he brings a ton of money and the German rivalry.

My actual no1 pick is GGG at 166 and my no2 pick is Kovalev or Stevenson at say 171lb

Im not sure he liked people hitting him back and he's looked buzzed a few times.

Im a big fan of Kovalev, and it's a great fight.

Yeah I'm with you in that, I don't think he's unbeatable and he's there to be hit. However to beat him you are going to have to go through it... Not sure I'd fancy it as a swansong.

Ward in the UK or nothing - there really isn't anything left for him to do. Anything else I believe would be a waste of time and of little interest.

Assuming Golovkin stays at middleweight I think you have a point. The current crop at super mid are a level below Carl bar Ward so for Carl to fight anyone else would really just be a step back that changes nothing. The only win that will enhance Carls already outstanding career would be a win v Ward.

GGG, Hopkins or Kovalev will satisfy me. If he knocks Hopkins out then he can say he was the first to do so. And 50 or not, he's still relevant.
