The shine has well and truly gone off Bradley. He should be fighting the likes of Thurman or Brook rather than an undefeated light welter with feather fists.

Agreed.

And agreed on Deck's point about Bradley. He never drew flies unfortunately.

Anyone know if Broner v Porter is at catchweight as I had seen this rumoured?  Takes the shine off it if so as was the case with Garcia v Peterson.

No idea about the catchweight thing but I'm not really bothered either way. Neither guy holds a title. Broner, no idea what his real weight clas sactually is these days and I know Porter was champ at 140, but he's a big unit who could possibly be better and more effective if allowed to hold a couple extra pounds going into a fight. I can see a catchweight being of benefit to both guys here to be honest in terms of the pair of them being physically at their peak for the fight. Plus it's just a good fight so I don't really see the need for any negativity or indifference to the match-up to be honest.

Yeah I heard it was.

Do you wreckon Haymon sets the catch weights to avoid the belts and sanctioning fees which he's apparently against?

I wondered if he was doing it so as to make it look like he's not actively trying to get them out of the picture in case the model he is appearing to favour doesn't gain traction and he needs to work with them again.  Another catchweight fight so soon after the last one would seem to dilute what he is offering as an alternative to the existing set up.  Whilst last weekends fights were good, PBC hasn't set my world on fire by a long shot although we don't see it as having the benefit of being free to air as they do in the States.

It's a strange one, he must know the catch weight scenario will draw criticism and bad press towards the fight, so I'm keen to know what benefits he sees in it.

Neither of these guys even hold a worthy title that I know of come to think of it, so that makes it even stranger.

I'd take Haymons shows over matchroom offering regardless of the catchweight.

Fancy the allowed extra size favours porter more than broner but still would not totally write broner off at all.
