Think that's a terrible stoppage myself. Quillin should probably have taken a knee but f***ing annoyed, I was looking forward to that  Angry

Still not even close to being sold on Jacobs.

He can bang, clearly, but what Pirog did remains pretty fresh in my mind.

You hit the nail on the head there my friend, absolutely spot on mate.

I reckon GGG would knock him out in 3-4 rounds

I said that to my pal the other day, he was trumped up by goldenboy as the next big thing and then got battered by pirog that night. Was a pleasure to be there ..

Has pirog climbed out the celebration magnum of vodka yet?

Shame he didn't crack on with his career .

Back to the fight I had it down as a 50:50 before it but haven't seen it yet, take it Jacobs won by ko

Yeah 1st round. Stoppage looked a bit Ian John Lewis at the time as Quillin was still on his feet but ref made the right call I think

Looked a bit soft at first but then when you see it close up it was a good call from the ref

It was crazy for as long as it lasted. Quillin was all the way up shit creek.

Got to admit I'd not really paid that much attention to Jacobs last couple of fights so perhaps I'll tune in more now he's banging decent enough opponents around from first round

Big statement from Jacobs, obviously he has the story behind it wasn't until last night that i really took notice of him as a world champion, i feel he has had a little run of soft oppononents to win and then defend the belt. Last night was the test though and he really stepped up, emphatically beat up Quillin. I thought the stoppage looked a bit of a panicky decision at first but immediately noticed there was no appeal at all from Quillin and obviously when it was slowed down you really saw where he was at.

Nothing wrong with this division, there is some legitmate champions definately for Golovkin to face if he does want to clear up. Nice to have all these big match ups in the last few months concluding with hopefully Saunders vs Lee in a couple of weeks.

It's a shame what happened to Pirog. Didn't he get a weird illness that he couldn't recover from?

An interesting point and it can also be argued that Quillin is better than anything currently on Golovkins record.
