I won't be surprised if it comes out today that AJ and Wlad are fighting for the vacant belts sand Tyson gave them up without a protracted battle whilst securing himself a fight against the winner

I didn't think a champion could fight for a vacant title? I'm sure a brown envelope or two could change that, though.

Yeah 100% a deal has been done for that to happen.

Fury steps back to allow Joshua/Klitschko to happen with a deal in place for him to take on the winner in what will be an even bigger fight for all the controversy!

I thought unification bouts took priority? I know that means more for the IBF belt and Joshua not having to face a mandatory but I imagine they can bend the rules for the vacant belts.its the money spinner after all.

Hearn isn't going to come out of things well if Joshua doesn't face Haye or Wlad next. The next best he can do is Joshua vs whoever is number contender for the vacated belts I guess.

Which means Ortiz as the interim champ for the WBA with Wlad next highest ranking. Or WBO Parker with Wlad again next highest rank.

So isn't going to be harder not to make Joshua vs Haye, Wlad or Parker this year than it would be to make it now?

This could also be the news that ends the possibility of a Joshua v Klitschko fight. Klitschko can now look to regain his titles against far less dangerous opposition. Does he really want to be fighting Joshua after a loss? not to mention how long he's been inactive prior to and after Fury.

Being honest, I think a lot of flaws have been shown by Joshua, that more established and experienced fighters might  see and believe they can exploit.

Joshua looked 'gone' for a spell against Whyte and was blowing a bit in his last fight. There's more than a few videos of Joshua being exposed and stopped on youtube.

Perhaps they believe now would be the right time to fight him, in case he can improve in those areas in the next year or two.

That said, it was rumoured he'd been suffering a cold in camp for his last outing, and whilst a bit mechanical looking he still got the job done to his credit.

O no doubt, he's not the fighter many think he is but he is a very confident undefeated k.o specialist...will not surprise me if Klitschko takes another route.

How many routes are there ?  Vlad is 40 years old and fought 68 times. I doubt his interested in avoiding the best now.  Just beat joshua and claim the WBA, WBO and IBF in one single fight. Then if he can get it... fight wilder for the WBC and retire. Job done.  Unless... fury recovers after all that.

Its got to be the way to go for vlad or he may as well retire now.

If Wlad turns up in the shape and performance anywhere close to the Haye fight Joshua will get flattened.

Wlad had issues with his wife suffering depression, and that has seen him cancel already.

I get the feeling though he's back on it and focused. He seems hungry for it. Like he doesn't want to go out like that.
