Took a pasting against Omar Figueroa over the weekend and over the last hour or so seen on several news outlets he's called it a day.

Deserved and well earned retirement been a good fighter over the years.

Think he would have been more liked if he ditched his father as his trainer. Didn't seem to add anything to his game and made the whole team look bad in press conferences.

The sport won't miss him.

He's been a well paid journeyman for a long while.

Guerrero was a solid world class fighter for a good few years, but he's not been a threat to win anything for a long time now. He's just been padding his bank balance as a whipping boy for those who do still have genuine world class aspirations/ability. Glad he's called it a day, always seemed a decent enough man. Hopefully he's made plenty of money and can enjoy a long happy retirement.

Did anyone see the Figueroa fight at the weekend? He looked to be going down very easy from Figueroa's shots. Considering Figueroa isn't massively heavy handed (particularly above his natural weight), I'm surprised at the shots that dropped Guerrero. Some of them seemed pretty innocuous.

It wasn't that long ago when forums were rife with the notion that mayweather was ducking the ghost.  Roll Eyes

At least he had his big money fight - but probably should have moved back down from the WW division.
