could have been a lot better if managed properly imo, but still did ok i guess. thought he really looked good when he started out, but never really seemed to kick on.

I agree he had bags of potential but wasn't handled correctly and in the end it cost him. I think its the right move to retire being stopped in five rounds in vegas did signal the end.

I think it was a combination of being trained by his dad for too long and getting a tough guy mentality that did for him. Being with W***** and the whole 'B-Hop next' thing did him no favours either. Still achieved a lot more than most although both of his world titles are unlikely to get a huge amount of credit.

Good cus he was f'king w*nk last night....offered next to nothing.

Cleverly looked to have a very bright future at one point, but his skillset never developed and he never rang the changes he needed too. His old man should have been fired a long, long, long time ago and even when he did go he only promoted his dads helper to the top position.

He needed to get  a trainer with a real, proven track record. But he wasn't prepared to do that for whatever reason and so we saw him stagnate. He had some good natural attributes and he got by on those alone really. But the development just never happened because he never had the right men in the corner.

Add to this he apparently didn't live the life and is a bit of a piss head and its not the best recipe for longevity. He did well to be a two time titlist and can be proud of what he achieved, oh and he's great at maths too!!  Wink

Joking aside he'll hopefully have earned some good money so good luck to him.

What's he going to do now? He won't have any qualifications to fall back on.

Fair play to him.

Agree with other people saying that he should have ditched his dad earlier , and can't comment on the next guy whom was mainly a fitness/conditioning person - but he could have had a better training team in that regards, people with actual experience at that level first hand.

FW seemed to have a rota of strange opponents, whilst calling out Froch & B-hop on a weekly basis. It seemed more than a wage than prize fighting.

Whilst lacking pop, he was game, fast,  fit and busy at his best.

He looked flat and disinterested heading into Jack fight, and didn't seem to have many folk around him (team-wise). So perhaps it was a cash swan song and this was already on the cards.

Hopefully he's got a few quid and can enjoy his life. He's still a young lad (turned just 30 in Feb)
