How would you see that play out?

Roy Jones not in his prime put calzaghe down, in his prime Roy would have smashed calzaghe ?

Any way this is  about Ward.

I feel like he is trying to take a page out of the Mayweather play book and retire - only to come out when a big money fight presents itself. Don't think this will be the end.

To be fair Calzaghe was also a far way past prime when he fought Jones

And it wasn't a legitimate shot that dropped him.  He hit him/dragged him down with the inside of his forearm.

I can see that happening.

At the end of the day, he has no fights on the horizon anyway it would seem.

Apart from Adonis, whom should be stripped imo.

I don't think a comeback would generate a great deal of interest.  If he'd retired for a couple of years after Dawson and then come straight back against Kovalev a la Leonard v Hagler then I'm sure there would've been a big buzz.  Stevenson is a bit of a joke and unless Beterbiev or someone really makes a big impact soon there isn't really much out there to get excited about.

Good point, was just abouts to type something similar. There isn't any point in putting his body through the rigors of training if nothing is exciting him and his heart isn't in it. He could be waiting some time for something decent to come along though.

Ward could have been a much bigger star had he been as bigger C**t out of the ring as he was in it. It worked for Floyd & Mcgregor.
