..previously he maintained he wanted 60-40 as he was a champion.

Groves still has to overcome Eubank Jr first.

Degale should really be calling 'the winner' of that fight, or a Groves rematch is pointless if he lost.

Its a strange move by Degale unless he doesn't think he has long to go career wise. He's only 30 from memory. He's also arguably the top guy in the division right now yet he's will to drop his purse.

Although he was ruled out by injury rather than opting out, I think not being in the WBSS has set him back like it did to Bute meaning that he is going to have to make concessions like Bute did once the Super Six was over.  Groves v Eubank is going to be a pretty big deal and if Smith beats Braemer then the final of the tournament is going to be huge domestically. 

With Traux up next, the best DeGale can hope for is probably the loser of Groves v Eubank after than with a view to fighting the winner of the tournament towards the end of the year.  It would be great if he could get a unification with Ramirez or Benevidiz but I can't see those fights happening any time soon.
