Hatton Promotions Ltd - Ricky Hatton - Matthew Hatton - Lee Beard

Lee Beard has taken up a training appointment in America and will no longer be connected with Hatton Promotions Ltd, Ricky Hatton or Matthew Hatton.

Lee has strong family connections in America and we fully understand his wish to move out there.

As far as Ricky is concerned he has not made any decision as to who will be replacing Floyd Mayweather senior as his trainer and he will address this issue on his return from holiday.

Matthew Hatton will continue his training for his fight at Fenton Manor, Stoke on the 19 February under the wing of Bob Shannon.

In the meantime Ricky, Matthew and everyone in the Hatton Camp wish Lee every success for the future.

Lee will be more of a loss to Mathew as i think he has improved alot under him.

I wish him all the best and it will be interesting to see how he gets on over there.

Was this decision made before or after he got the job with ?

Im not sure if im allowed say the name.

I didn't see that one coming!!! I was expecting him to train ricky, plus matt looked better than he ever has under Lee!!

So this begs the question who will train Ricky?? Freddie I think declared him self out, Could Mr. gallager come in?

We will hardly see a billy-ricky reunion???

the release said he'd no longer be connected with Ricky Hatton, I assumed that meant he wouldnt be his new trainer? Could be wrong though

I thought Matt and lee worked well together, was also under the impression that lee was well embedded in the team hatton camp, seems strange to me, wonder if lee was against Ricky fighting on, or dosent like not being picked to be rickys next trainer, if that was the case

He wouldn't have gone out to help with Matthew Macklin would he?  Anyway, seemed a good guy and good trainer so also join others in wishing him the very best!

Who is reported to be looking for a trainer in america?

It must be quite a big gig to move away from the Hattons.

Cotto?

Sorry but wouldn't Lee have put an interview out if he was the one who had decided to leave?

U dont need to be a brainiac to work out they have lined up someone else to train Ricky or this American gig has rubbed them up.

Maybe im wrong and to be honest, who cares? but i will say this.

Matty came on leaps and bounds training under him i thought.

Who will train him now? a yes man like shannon ? or Brian Hughes?

Ricky Hatton Dumps Lee Beard

Ricky Hatton is searching for a new trainer after splitting with Lee Beard, who had been in his corner for three years.

Beard, who was assistant trainer to Hatton under Billy Graham and Floyd Mayweather Snr, had been earmarked to spearhead Hatton’s training for his proposed return to the ring in June.

But Hatton, 31, is angry that Beard flew to America to train lightweight star Joan Guzman, leaving himself and his brother Matthew in the lurch.

It is understood that Bear walked out while preparing Matthew for a fight against Georgian Mikheil Khucishvili in Stoke on February 19.

Hatton will pick a new trainer later this month.

Favourite to take over is Bob Shannon, who trains several of the boxers Hatton now promotes

Bob Shannon isn't a yes man. He's a massively underrated trainer.
