Kell Brook Hit With 56-Day Curfew Over Assault CaseBy Mark Vester
According to the Sheffield Star, unbeaten welterweight contender Kell Brook will be electronically tagged for 56-days to prevent him from going out at night. Last month the 24-year-old boxer was found guilty of assaulting a bar manager at a trial at Barnsley Magistrates' Court last month. Brook's promoter Frank W***** wrote a letter to the judge to prevent Brook from having to go through community service, which would have become an issue with his training camp for the WBO eliminator with Michael Jennings on September 18.
Brook beat up bar manager Ryan Casey, who prevented the boxer and his friend from entering the ladies toilet at the Che nightspot in Barnsley. Brook punched him in the ribs and landed a hook to the jaw. Bouncers went after Brook but he and his friends escaped through the club's fire exit. Brook was ordered to Mr Casey £150 compensation and £600 towards prosecution costs.
