Monzon was one of the greatest fighters in history.

A true enigma, with a sad and tragic streak running through him he couldn't shake off, which resulted in his partner and mother of his child being slain and his mind exploding.

He cant be forgiven for what he did in his personal life and cannot be forgotten for what he did in the ring.

I still can't get over that Valero tragedy.  Also, I do not believe we know the truth about what happened to him.  I strongly suspect it wasn't suicide.  Did anyone else here see that very very strange video of his body in his jail cell?

Another tragic Argentine boxer - Oscar Bonavena, killed outside a Nevada cat house.

Monzon was 87-3 +9 draws.

If I counted this correctly, he didn't lose a single fight in his last seventy-nine fights.  Incredible!
