Pacquiao-Cotto tickets!

By Nick Giongco

Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum told Fightnews and Manila Bulletin that tickets for the Nov. 14 bout between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto will be priced at $1,000, $750, $500, $300 and $150 and that it will go on sale beginning next month. The 12-round welterweight war will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with Pacquiao already installed a 2-1 favorite over the shaven-skulled bomber from Caguas, Puerto Rico.

Cheers Dec, what do people think the demand for tickets will be like for this one?

Quite high I think. There are quite a number of Filipino and Puerto Ricans in the US. Also Cotto has been fighting in the US for years. Hopefully some of his faithful that go to MSG will make the trip. Manny has celeb status now in the US especially in LA. Not to mention those that will travel from their home nations and fans from neutral countries. Yes the prices are high but it's a great match up and they only need 20k fans or so to fill the place. I think they'll do it easily.

I'm almost a certainty for this fight. Whats the general concensous on what sales will be like? Should we be panicking and buying early or will it be like Floyd vs JMM and slowly end up as a sellout?

I think there will be a surge in sales when they go on sale with the $150 and $300 tickets selling out then the others will slowly be sold and i think it will end up selling out depending on the what they scale the Arena too, 12,000, 14,000 or 16,200!!!!

Would love to go to this but dont think i can afford it, if it was Ricky i would be going no question its just i dont feel getting in debt having just clawed back my finances from the Manny-Hatton fight.

I do think its great a lot of you guys seem to be going but feel for you all on the prices going up again for flights, hotels etc

Its a bloody liberty these travel companys hiking up the prices, i could see the Hatton money machine for them being a good earner but to hit fans over here every time a good fight is on from fighters not even British and seemingly keeping an eye on when they are to bump the prices up is a p*ss take.

The cheap tickets will sell quickly as people want to buy them and also alot of people buy to sell them on espacially companies that sell holidays etc.
the top seats will sell out late on espacially with top celebrities and rich people also there alot of rich fans that can afford it that does not include me sadly lol

Manny shud win as he punches alot and is fast cotto will get tired and fight on his backfoot later on like he did wiv clotty and margarito and that is a big advantage for manny throwing quick punches and moving making cotto work hard as he has problems wiv stamina

Tickets are priced as I expected, and priced the same as PBF-JMM. We will be very lucky to get the $150, they will be snapped up straight away. So most will have to settle for $300. And the $300 will also sell very fast. The arena will be set up to hold just over 16000. Off the top of my head, I think Cotto has done over 20,000 for Judah, over 19,000 for Mosley and over 17,000 for Clottey. But theres always alot of cheap tickets available at MSG.

Khan fancies a spot on the bill, so there may be more English demand than anticipated...

Amir Khan To Spar With Manny Pacquiao Ahead Of Cotto Fight, May Appear On Same Card
by James Slater - After his fine victory over Andreas Kotelnik on Saturday, new WBA light-welterweight champion Amir Khan gave pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao a fair amount of credit for his win. Not only had the 22-year-old sparred with "Pac-Man" ahead of his big fight, Khan was also given much encouragement by the Filipino legend. Now, wanting to make a first defence of his newly acquired world title, Khan may appear on the same card as Pacquiao when Manny fights Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas on November 14th. Khan will definitely be sparring with Pacquiao once again, as the southpaw dynamo gets ready for a tough night's work against the Puerto Rican favourite..

In speaking to The Bolton News, trainer of both men Freddie Roach spoke about how he only allows Pacquiao and Khan to spar together for a few rounds.

"[Manny and Amir] will be in there together as it is ideal preparation," Roach said. "They are both so fast it can be a real blur at times. But I only let them go at each other for four rounds. It is intense in there from the start and four rounds is enough."

Khan has always wanted to fight in America, and he very much hopes to make his debut there on the huge Pacquiao-Cotto bill in Vegas. First, though, Freddie has to pick an opponent for his newest world champion. Khan himself says he will fight whoever Frank W***** puts in front of him, but Roach has spoken about a couple of possible challengers.

"[Marcos Rene Maidana] has just beaten [Victor] Ortiz for free. Those two have just fought for little money," Roach said. "I would love that fight but not right now. Why not build that fight up? There are some big names out there. My job is to get him ready for fights and I'm not afraid of anybody out there."

According to the Bolton News article, Juan Manuel Marquez's name is also being "bandied" about as a possible opponent for Khan. However, unbeaten Dmitriy Salita is Khan's official WBA mandatory challenger, and within a maximum of nine months the Ukrainian must be accommodated. Could it be this fight that is made as part of the massively exciting Pacquiao-Cotto card?

Either way, and whoever Khan fights next he will be getting the best possible sparring with Pacquiao and the best possible training under Roach. Indeed, the 22-year-old is hoping he can go from strength to strength. Khan's US debut should attract a good deal of attention.

Concerning the undercard, here's a except from an article on maxboxing
The main event speaks for itself, but the last two mega-fights involving 'the Pac Man' had horrid undercards. Perhaps the worst that didn't feature Butterbean and Mia St. John, but when asked what type of supporting card we can expect on November 14th, Arum boldly stated," Spectacular, spectacular. I'm going out on a limb. So I'm going to say everybody is going to be licking their chops on this undercard. It's going to be that good."
Complete article here http://maxboxing.com/Kim/Kim072109.asp (http://maxboxing.com/Kim/Kim072109.asp)

Ticket prices are what I expected, same as Pacquaio-Hatton and could sell at a similar pace. I'm not saying Cotto doesn't have as many fans as Ricky, question is will they travel to Las Vegas in the same numbers. Anybody go to Cotto's last fight in Las Vegas have an idea how many fans Cotto drew.

Cotto's last fight in Vegas vs Margarito drew a crowd of 10,477 to The MGM Grand Garden Arena, nearly 6,000 below maximum capacity.

If Manny were 2/1 nad he was fav then Cotto must be longer than 2/1 so might as well just pop £1000000 on each. Not gonna happen I'm afraid, 2/1 on methinks

Stayed at Planet Hollywood last time out for Pacman fight after staying at TI the three trips prior to this one.  Planet Hollywood has a great location as you know but the whole nightclub image got to me after the first two nights! I thought I'd love that as well and even though it was a good stay I'd probably spend a tenner at duty free on a bottle of spirits and then head over to Caesars!

Especially after watching THE HANGOVER as now I'm expecting every room there to look like the villa that they stayed in  :D

Cotto's WBA title belt entered the ring first, along with the Puerto Rican flag, both arriving to a tepid response from the highly partisan crowd of 10,477. When the image of Margarito flashed on the Jumbotron screens the cheering was lust-filled and bellicose and one thing was clear - the challenger controlled the crowd. But could he control the champion?

Lol from what i remember of you Laney you do look alot older than 18 though, i only tried a couple of times over there for ale for both the Floyd and Manny fights and got asked for ID evrytime bar one even though most people said i would not have much trouble.
If you can be confident about it you might get away with it, half the time though i was just thinking "i bet they ask for ID" so it probably made me look under the age like i was.
Cant wait for Cotto/Pac no longer have any worries about the ID situation anymore whooo

I've got a serious issue with this fight. I really want to go and my mate is badgering me like mad to go. The problem is I'm supposed to be moving in with a mate who's buying a house, and he can only really afford it on te basis of my rent money as part of the mortgage. I would have to skint myself severely to be able to afford both Vegas and moving house in the same year. I've got a little cash stored away but it's still a very tall order. Cotto is my favourite fighter besides Ricky though, so it's like a once in a lifetime chance to see him in the flesh in a proper megafight.

I've no idea what to do! I know the carefree on here will say just go for it but I'm in need of logical closure in my mind on this one.

According to Rafael, there's talk of Valero-Soto on the undercard, although I didn't think Valero was licensed in NV, yet.

• One fight Arum mentioned to me as a possibility for the Cotto-Pacquiao undercard is a lightweight title match between Edwin Valero and junior lightweight titlist Humberto Soto, who plans to move up in weight. That's a can't-miss fight.

Go to www.tripadvisor.com (http://www.tripadvisor.com), search for MGM Grand, on the results click read reviews for this hotel, then there's an option to choose dates and rpice it up with various other online websites. ebookers and Thomson have got some good details on hotels at the moment.

You should really book direct as prices are often cheaper with the hotel directly than on other sites.

Plus, you can often get the lower rate if they decide to drop the price in the mean time.

Has anyone ever brought tickets from Top Rank before because I think this is our best bet. If they go on general sale at the end of next month will you just be able to apply for them direct from Top Ranks website?

Any information regarding tickets for this fight would be much appreciated.

Ticketmaster all the way on this one.
Just wait and see how it goes,  last resort if you really are needing a ticket is razorgator,  they delivered twice for me but is way over face value.

I've basically been nominated to organise this trip again (like every f'in trip we go on) so I have the responsibily if having to get 8 tickets. I'm pretty sure when I used ticketmaster as a kind of second option in May (just to see how it works) they would only limit you up to 2 or 4 tickets.

This would be a dissaster because there is no way I can order 4 tickets and leave 4 people out.

Top Rank should supply them to the fans direct imo.

love to go to this 1 but unfortunately got laid off work last week and added to that getting hitched next yr. i can claim back tax when i' m unemployed 4 weeks bout 2k but will have to pay that off wedding bill , i wont see vegas until honeymoon nxt july hope i get lucky with fight around that time ,
but for this 1 it will just have to be SBO , really cant pick who i'm going for in this ,cotto was always my 2nd fav fighter behind ricky but i really want to see pac v mayweather funny i know coz the fight we all wanted to see last yr was cotto v mayweather how fickle us boxing fans are eh, but suddenly it doesnt seem as appealling as pac -mayweather fight and i'm not saying cotto v mayweather wouldnt be a gr8 fight but i just think as a global event £4£ # 1 & 2 (ATG'S)fighters in the world sqauring off just really sets the pulses racing and genuinely believe listening to some of mayweathers interviews of l8 is little nervous of a fight with pacqiauo

Dont worry about the tickets. Even if you just get your flights and land over there with no tickets, I'd say you'll find them on the night no problem (for standard price). The recession is no joke, Vegas is dead compared to a few yeas ago apparently. And this won't be the 1st mega fight this year to suffer because of it. We've all heard the the stories about Manny V Oscar not selling out, and them giving away thousands of tickets on the night. Arum will talk it up and claim X amount have been sold, and he expects a sell-out bla bla bla but that is just him trying to push people into buying. He claimed Cotto-Clottey was a sure sell-out the eve of the fight, but there was about 2-3 thousand seats available that night.

Anyone agree/disagree?

Isn't it a bit sketchy buying tickets out there on fight night. I've heard of a few people who got some fake ones.

I'd probably break down if that happened to me.

I think your spot on there mate!!  I remember Richard Shaefer from GoldenBoy Promotions saying that over 12,000 had been sold for Hatton v Malignaggi a week after going on sale and it would be a sell out yet there was only 9,000 in there on the night ::)

... and there were $300 tix for Pacquiao-Hatton available on ticketmaster a couple of weeks before that fight. Plus, after Arum said it was 'officially sold-out' there were still tickets left at ticketmaster and they ended up comping a ton, too. For this one, the $150's will go quick and then the $300's might all sell. You'll probably be able to buy $500-$1000 right up until fight day or maybe even get one of those high-priced tickets below face from someone whose got an extra to unload.

PACQUIAO/COTTO?

It’s the fight that everyone’s talking about! What will happen when world welterweight champion Miguel Cotto steps into the same ring as pound-for-pound king of the ring Manny “Pacman” Pacqiuao? Everyone at Top Rank shares your excitement about this proposed fight; however, this fight has not been signed at this time. Therefore, we cannot currently take any ticket requests for a potential Pacquiao/Cotto bout. Please stay tuned and we will announce when the fight is signed and when tickets will be available for sale.

Great to see the allure of Vegas is still strong amongst the armada even without the presence of the Hitman, a couple of the boys have booked but I'm in two minds at the moment.

The fight itself does not need selling but Mayweather - Cotto/Pacquiao sounds very attractive circa next April, tbh November was not the same as April in Vegas for me, the weather guarantees the full package at that time but judging by the prices of a direct flight with BA with 5 nights accomodation, it may be hard to resist.

I would be confident of sailing into the box office on the day of the fight and getting a $150/300 on the day of the fight, if I could do it for Hatton -  I can do it for this one.

Weather,  hit and miss but don't expect to be lounging by the pool all day.
Tickets are not on sale yet,  I would read the terms very carefully as yes if they get tickets you are ok but usually you will find a disclaimer just incase they can't source tickets or for some reason the fight does not happen.
Can't disagree with Cotto rd. 7  but on the other hand it would not suprise me if Manny took Miguel out within 5,  and if I was pushed to put money down on this fight I honestly would not know.

$300 tickets are fine, they are the ones i'll be going for. Good enough view though IMO you cant really get a bad view. Its a great arena for boxing.

Weather wont be that great, The pools will probaly be shut though theres plenty of other things to do.

It will be a slap in the face for Floyd when there are plenty of empty seats for the Marquez fight, then a few weeks later Pacquiao and Cotto pack the joint to the rafters.

If this is a typical Ticketmaster pre-sale just be aware of the info below. Wouldn't want to see people freaking out if they can't get a $300 on Sat. Doesn't necessarily mean there won't be some available on Mon.  Call me a cynic, but I can see Arum having few low-priced tix available at the pre-sale hoping people will do just that and buy the higher priced ones at that time.

From the Ticketmaster website

Occasionally, some events will be available to purchase online before they go on sale to the general public. These pre-sales frequently require a password that may be distributed by the venue, artist, team, or promoter of either the event or the pre-sale, or distributed by Ticketmaster.com via email promotions and TicketAlerts. Often, these passwords are distributed to exclusive members of clubs or certain other types of groups and cannot be offered to members of the public. Links may be published on the Event Information page at the time of pre-sale. Ticketmaster Phone Center and Customer Service representatives usually cannot give out passwords. If an event is scheduled for pre-sale and we are authorized to publish it in advance, the event page may list an "Internet Pre-sale" date with the ticket sales information.

Internet pre-sales are usually sold from a reserved allotment of seats, which may not reflect the same availability during the public ticket sale. Internet pre-sales provide the advantage of exclusive purchasing windows in advance of the public sale, which often results in less people competing for the pool of available seats. However, Internet pre-sales may also have limited seating available in various areas - these pre-sales are intended as advance purchasing windows and do not necessarily provide access to better seating. In fact, it is possible that you may be able to obtain tickets for better seats at the general public sale than those that you purchase through a pre-sale. We must remind you that Ticketmaster does not offer refunds or exchanges, so you will not be able to replace the tickets you obtain at a pre-sale with other tickets that become available at a later date.

it's not for speaking your mind.

It's for spamming every thread, Pac Man related or not, with your inane Pacquaio love. It's for starting childish threads like your "forum members who want to see Cotto smash Pacquaio" one. It's for generally being really annoying. It's for refusing to accept anything even remotely negative about your hero. It's for refusing to be even remotely balanced or reasoned. Seriously, a lot of us liked Pacquiao but you've now created a situation where people want to see him put on his backside just to see how you react - that's plain ridiculous.

There was a thread on the off topic board a few weeks ago about man-crushes. I can't believe i've only just now had the idea of you having the biggest man crush in the history of man-crushes on Pac Man.

I can't believe i've only just now had the idea of you having the biggest man crush in the history of man-crushes on Pac Man.

dude get a hold of yourself, you were doing the exact same sh*t during the build up to the pacquiao/hatton fight. Didn't you support and build up your man Ricky as well, all I'm doing is countering all statement against Pac that's all.

I think thats his point, you counter every thread that could possibly show Pac in a bad light, to the point where a group of people here that might in other circumstances have supported him, want him to lose.

What in your opinion are Manny's 3 worst traits?

indecisiveness, too trusting and a little too naive at times.

Almost reminds me of the interview situation when you ask someone:

Q:  Do you think you have any weaknesses at work?
A:  I think sometimes I work too hard/take on too much work/too much of a perfectionist, etc.

Ha ha yes exactly, thats kind of why I asked it, in other words in Fils mind Manny is perfect!

I was doing the exact same?

I was turning every thread into a pro-Hatton rally? I was going on Pacquaio's site and winding people up? I was refusing to accept that Ricky Hatton was anything other than perfection? I was posting inane, spam crap on every single boxing thread and trying to steer the conversation toward Ricky Hatton?

I really, really, really don't think I was. Because it takes an extreme man crush and an awful lot of spare time to do those things. I have neither of them and you clearly have both of them.

Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto, “FirePower” will take place Saturday, Nov. 14 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will be televised live on HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9 p.m. PST/6 p.m. PST. Tickets priced at $1,000, $750, $500, $300 and $150 go on sale Monday, Aug. 17 at 10 a.m. Ticket are limited to 10 per person and ticket sales at $150 are limited to two (2) per person, with a total ticket limit of 12 per person. Tickets also are available for purchase at www.mgmgrand.com (http://www.mgmgrand.com) or www.ticketmaster.com (http://www.ticketmaster.com).

“Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto have reached an agreement to fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday, Nov. 14,” said Top Rank Chief Executive Officer Bob Arum. Top Rank is currently working on a major media tour to commence immediately following Labor Day weekend. Details will be announced in the near future.

Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KOs), of General Santos City, Philippines, has won six world titles in as many different weight divisions ranging from 112 to 140 pounds. His performance in 2008 was described as “Henry Armstrongesque” as he won world titles at 130 and 135 pounds with victories over Juan Manuel Marquez and David Diaz, respectively, and knocked out Oscar De La Hoya at 147 pounds to complete the trifecta. The winning streak continued in 2009 when he won another world title in a new weight division, dealing defending junior welterweight champion Ricky Hatton a second-round knockout in May at MGM Grand.

Cotto (34-1, 27 KOs), from Caguas, Puerto Rico, has held a world title every year since 2004. Puerto Rico’s most exciting fighter, Cotto held the World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight crown from 2004-2006. He successfully defended it six times before vacating it to capture the World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight title at the end of 2006, a title he held for nearly as long. He won his second welterweight title earlier this year as he knocked out Michael Jennings in the fifth round at Madison Square Garden to become the WBO Welterweight Champion. Notable victories on Cotto’s belt include Sugar Shane Mosley, Zab Judah, Joshua Clottey, Pauli Malinaggi and Demarcus Corley.

The Pacquiao vs. Cotto pay-per-view telecast, beginning at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST, has a suggested retail price of $49.95.

I don't know yet, I'm waiting for Pac's fight with Mayweather though....I saw him guesting on a local TV show yesterday and he was put in a polygraph test just for fun. When it came to the final question of whether Cotto will be his last fight or not before he enters politics he refused to answer the question. Basically confirming that he will not yet retire after Cotto.

Hmmm interesting that,  does make you think that he wants to take on Floyd Jnr and then call it a day.
What would happen to that match up if he lost against Cotto though  ???  would it still be a goer.  I would still love to see it but not sure whether Manny would walk away knowing he has a lot more left that he wants to achieve.
When you decide let me know,  i'd be happy to buy you a beer in Vegas Fil.

for sure Madmariner! Yeah they kept prodding him to answer the question with a YES or NO but he can't give a definite answer. If he loses to Cotto I can still see him going back to 140 and fighting there maybe a couple more times than call it a day.  :)

I assume its the .com and not .co.uk  website.

Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto is Already a Hot Ticket

Tickets for the WBO welterweight title bout between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto don't go on sale until Monday, but the buzz is already beginning to build and rooms at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas are beginning to fill-up.

Ringside tickets for the biggest boxing match of 2009 are coming with a face value of $1,000 each with the nosebleed seats going for $150. Even in an economy that is reeling and on the ropes, the few available tickets for the general public are expected to be scooped up within hours of going on sale.

With over three months to go before the fight, most of the over 5,000 rooms at the MGM Grand have already been booked for the weekend of Nov. 14th. A visit to a travel agent today by this writer confirmed that only the high-end rooms at the MGM are still available for the weekend of the fight.

“There's must be something big going on for this happen,” said the agent. “The only thing I have open are the signature rooms. I don't think I've ever seen that happen three months in advance. Usually, and especially lately, I can get rooms at the MGM quite easily, they have five thousand of them, so I'm a little shocked to see that to be honest with you.”

When told that a big boxing match was taking place on that weekend, the agent nodded and raised her eyebrows.

“Well, that's still interesting because I've handled travel arrangements for people going to Vegas for New Years' Eve as well as UFC events and I don't think I've never known the MGM to be that full that far in advance.”

With Manny Pacquiao headlining his third straight fight at “the house that Tyson built” ticket brokers are salivating. A quick check today on one popular ticket seller shows the seats in the furthest reaches of the Grand Garden Arena, where the ring looks like a matchbook and the fighters look like ants - going for $338 a piece.

However, the most shocking price tag, is of course, reserved for ringside. In the area usually inhabited by the Nicholsons, the Stallones and the DiCaprios - two ringside tickets in Section A, Row A down on the floor are already selling for an astounding 22 times their face value and will set you back $22,536.

I wonder how much of this is hype being dished out by Arum.  I think I read the ticket limit per person would be 10.  And the cheap seats via ticket brokers at $300 odd as opposed to $1000 odd for Hatton v Mayweather.  Also, expedia is still offering standard rooms on Expedia.

My mate in Canada rung them and did it all over the phone, apparently they don't sell tickets in odd numbers so he had to haggle with them for a while, it was only when he told them that all 9 of us were at the Manny v Ricky and Manny v Oscar fights that the woman said ok. I thought he was winding me up but it is supposedly true. Anyway we got really good seats, and the ticket came to £188 so it's not bad.

The woman my mate spoke to said they had far more interest in this fight already than for the hatton one, so i think that it is a bit of both. More interest and a bit of spin from Top Rank. With Manny's populairty sky high after beating Ricky and Oscar more people want a piece of him.

Why cant they be up front and have it as first come first served for whatever ticket you want. This is putting me off going big time.

Yeh, i just bought the ticket on impulse, us boxing junkies dooooo don't we LOL, I was after a $1000 centre section but i see they are only putting up the crap corners, it won't be a sell out, but all the cheap seats will be gone in a flash, I recken a load ov Brit fans should really go for the fight as it's going to be a classic, well at least the exchange rate "touch wood" won't be as bad as in May.

I'll be on ticketmaster at 6pm hoping too get section L13/M13 or opposite, i had M13 Row Q seat 1 for the ricky debacle & i've gotta say it was the best seat i've ever had in the MGM, just below half way, perfect, jeez, 3 months cold turkey 2 go

As usual the scalpers/ticket agencies will have about 6K+ & then there's the MGM comps for the high rollers, but these will be all the cheap seats & the TV ground floor & 1st 4 rows on the 1st lift, there was only 10K at the cotto/margo fight & when you look at the sales for the Hatton fight which yer slow as you could still pick up the $1000/$750 near on 2 weeks before kick off & Hatton sold 4K, Bob Arum has said only 3K are being made available but thats just 2 stampede the sheep like ME lol, obviously as you know the ticket agencies have been hammered these last 3 fights so going on past performances you should be OK by mid september but this is going 2 be a major showdown 4 sure & i see a full house come fight night.

No problem, mate. Hopefully, we'll meet up and can come up with a friendly wager. But if you want to bet big $$$$ you should do it at the sports book. Looks like the odds in Vegas will end up around -250/+210 and I’ve already said if you like Cotto, that’s good value. I think Pacquiao wins it, but I'm not confident enough to lay those kind of odds. I’ll end up making a couple of small prop bets on Pac’s winning round.

Hey Duranimal, good to see you back. I also looked at a $1000 ticket hoping to get a great seat. But when I saw it was only in the corner, I said the heck with it and bought a $300. The $300 corners aren't that much worse than the $1000 corners when you think about it. Hope to see you there!

I'm trying to get 5x$500 in a central block but it's only bringing upper corners up. just phoned ticketmaster and she said the central blocks have all sold out and all the $300 ones have aswell! ha ha yeah right you robbing tw*ts. Why not mate its a big fight, i would not be shocked if those central tickets what you keep trying for have never even been on sale due to being snapped up by touts etc.
I would try buying either 2 and 3 rather than all five together or 3+3, i think its more a case of getting a ticket now than where your ticket is.

Rang them an hour ago and no one picked up.

I'm pretty pissed off tbh. For someone that has been trying since they first went on presale on Saturday (to the minute I might just add) right through until today it's an absolute joke I haven't been able to bag any tickets.

Yet if I went on one of these bastard ticket broker websites they add $100 fee's on per ticket there are thousands. The whole thing is an insult to us fans.

I rang the UK box office a few times prior to tickets going on sale and never got a answer either so there service is a complete load of shit it seems, i would hold out a while yet mate and see how things go.
It could turn out to be a bad move but there are $500 tickets galore on ticketmaster, i just checked out of curiosity and got through first time but if you want the cheap ones your going to struggle obviously. Its also not uncommon for tickets to be advertised on here on the build upto fights with peooles mates dropping out etc.

Me and Leve are going to watch it on tv somewhere, either cctv at a suitable place, or a bar.

Are the bars allowed to show the fight? I am not sure, as surely people would watch in a bar rather than pay $50+ for cctv somewhere??  ???

I am going to investigate good places to watch it, that have big screen and table service for drinks perhaps, and maybe some food.

A lot of people don't see the point in going over if you are not actually going to the fight, but after having been to all of Ricky's fights at the MGM, I know that I end up watching the big screens more than the actual ring anyway, as it is difficult to tell exactly what is going on when you are sat in the seats in the upper blocks! Plus you get commentary when watching on tv. Being in Vegas for 5 nights is enough atmosphere for me when a fight is on, I can do without an extra hour for the actual fight if I have to!

If anyone else is trying to save money and fancies this then let me know, and I will start a separate thread in off topic so we can get a group of us all watching it on tv in the same place..

Wow i respect your choice Chris and as youve said youve been numerous times before but i wouldnt go and not go the fight..

Thats just me though.

You wont find a bar i dont think (though could be wrong) but if its a sell out there will be plenty of places with the CCTV..

I've never done this before, I've been fortunate enough to get tickets for every fight I've been over for, I'll be happy just being in Vegas and I don't fancy paying $300+ again, Vegas costs enough as it is!

Does anyone know for sure if bars are or aren't allowed to show the fight?

Hey Duranimal, good to see you back. I also looked at a $1000 ticket hoping to get a great seat. But when I saw it was only in the corner, I said the heck with it and bought a $300. The $300 corners aren't that much worse than the $1000 corners when you think about it. Hope to see you there!

Will do amigo, smart move that regarding the $300 corner seats & that $700 will go down well in the ZURI bar ;D

Mate no bars were showing it for the Mayweather v Hatton fight. Thats why they can charge $50 to cram you in a hall infront of big tv.s

Its all about the $$$$$$

Possible downtown off the beat and track? Try dropping Brockton or Duranimal a pm they have been to the last 50 odd fights in Vegas between them  ;)

Duranimal!!!

I had a good chat with you on the Sunday morning in Zuri post Hatton debacle. I was the guy who had bought the poster from you and you sent me the Cotto v Margarito one too.

Hope to see you out there in November.

Socrates!!!

How the f*ck are yer, still dishin out EXPENSIVE legal advice ;D This is going too be some Titanic fight mate, expect the Cotto that beat Mosley 2 be on parade & we'll all get the picture after Pac's been on one of those countering left's like the one that drop Clottey, remember the shock on Clottey's face, it's going 2 get real brutal around 5/7 but i'll not be suprised 2 see Cotto get the TKO 8)

Hatton/Pacman was being shown at the Bellagio/Manderlay Bay but if yer want too watch it in a bar then you'd have 2 hit the suburbs but i'am not sure if HBO will BLACK/DARK all non casino/commercial premises for a radius of 15+ miles, they've done this in the past & all through the 90's when Tyson was fighting it could only be viewed through official sponsor outlets & home TV of course, it'll be on PPv for $50.00 at the MGM/Mirage/Ballagio ect. But you could contact the Crown & Anchor pub on Flamingo, they'll give yer the as it is now update.

For anyone still looking the UK box office Punch Promotions have $300 tixs.
They are not a straight exchange rate being sold at £240.00,  mine are through Punch,  only downside is you do not know your seat no's until they arrive.
I've had $150, $300 + $750 in the past and view was fine from all seats, I preferred my $300 seats for Malignaggi better than the $750 ones I got for Mayweather.

Chris Vegas will be blacked out,  no chance of watching this in a bar  I have heard in the past the C&A has screened fights illegally but dont know if this is true.  Only other option is CCTV through ticketmaster when they go on sale usually $50 + fees.

I wouldn't buy CCTV from Ticketmaster, f*ck 'em. I'd buy over there after getting advice as to where is good to watch it, I saw signs at MGM in May advertising it at $65 I think, so I'd just pay that over there. Cheers Ann.

In the current economic climate, if you are going to Vegas then I'd get a proper fight ticket opposed to just getting CCTV.

You don't want to go over there to sit in a glorified hall (it's not even that) with hard uncomfortable chairs and claim tickets to get a drink at the bars.

I'm not going but that's my two cents. Get the proper fight ticket!!!

But I'll see you at the Mayweather v Pac fight if it comes to fruition.  ;)

The March trip is already paid for (it was done on my credit card) and my friend is still in the process of paying me off. So I can't really do that, plus he's been having a tough time as of late and he deserves a good break.

I booked a package holiday, too, so it cannot be cancelled.

I will be there later on next year for Pac vs Mayweather or/and some other super fight.  ;)

Hard uncomfortable chairs? I don't remember having particularly special comfortable padded seats in the arenas, they are hard plastic seats there too.

Claim tickets to get drinks at the bar? I'm sure that will be easier than going to and from my seat up and down stairs and queuing up at the bars in the arena.

Chris, I'm with Skav on this. You need to be in the arena. You'll pay $50 for closed circuit anyway, I'm sure you could muster up an extra $250, even if it means beans on toast for a while?Even if its just to look back in a few years when this is remembered as a great fight, and say 'I was there'.

Imagine if you were in Vegas for Leonard Hearns, Hagler-Leanard, Tyson-Holyfield but weren't in the arena. That would eat me up.

Quite a few lads had CCTV tickets at the Mayweather fight went & bought scalped tickets on the friday & sat, it just got too them big time once kick off time was drawing near, obviously what with the amount that went everyone had a great time with the build up & all & not much hope of a ticket, but in this instance tickets are available!!!

Hello, Duranimal, good to hear from you!

I'll be going for a week in March, from the 15th-22nd for a convention.

I'll be looking to go to some sort of mega fight in Vegas (hopefully Pac v Mayweather) later on in 2010!!!

Have a  good time over there!

Not sure if Stuart is going, he's in two minds at the moment.

Chris - they ARE uncomfy - they're like dining chairs! And Steve missed the entire Lacy fight at Hatton/Mayweather queuing up at the bar - the queues were literally almost an hour's wait.

I understand what you mean by 'peace of mind'. But, I also understand that every ticket that goes to Punch and other ticket brokers (the tout box offices as dazzer correctly calls them) is one less ticket that is available for face value from the original source for fans. The Ticketb*stard 'convenience charge' is bad enough as it is. I'm very much against the whole procedure by which many tickets for high demand events never go on sale at face value and are instead directed straight to the secondary market. It's become a big problem here in the US. So much so that Congress and some state legislatures are looking into it. Of course, having them actually fix a problem is a whole other story.

Yeah but at least Punch are selling them at relatively close to face value - they've got to make a profit! They're not like the third party websites that charge 3 or 4 times the value.

Yes in an ideal world all tickets would go on sale at a specified time and place for first come first served. I'd be all for that, but when opportunity knocked, I took it!

What do you expect though? If Punch Promotions are able to get tickets to sell on to UK customers then it is obvious that they are going to mark them up, why else bother doing it? They are not a charity, it is supply and demand, and people over here are willing to pay for them and want/need them, so they can charge what they want.

Gutted I couldn't manage to persuade my mates to go over for this in the end.

With Punch I think people get the piece of mind of having the ticket in their hand before they travel and know they can contact someone in the UK if they have any problems.  Plus I think Punch had them on sale earlier than Top Rank (due to the time difference with the States) so people could get their hands on them and know they were sorted - I'm sure all that is worth £50 to a few people.

All of the 9,000 seats at $150, $350 and $500 are sold out.The available seats are... at the $1,000 and $750 price range. Thanks to all the fans for making this happen! Aaron, TM wasn't selling $300's for $500. It's just that the ticket map can be misleading. For example, it's not that L224 is all $500 (green) and U224 is all $300 (orange). U224 has both $300 and $500. This fooled me too on Saturday. They were showing me a $500 ticket in U224 and I said wtf. Then when I looked at the row number it was clearly in the $500 section on the map. I assumed the break between L224 and U224 coincided with the break between $300 and $500 tickets which isn't the case. Best to go by row number.

Ok. I need a $300 ticket for a friend who has decided to go. Looks like Ticketmaster have no $300 left.

Anyone got any offers? Assuming the UK Box Office have some, I will use them as a last resort due to their high charges.

I know Manilla Red was offering some a while back. Manilla are you still there???!!!Ill PM him also.

I think he only had a limited time to claim the tickets from the Pacman camp. I don't think Manilla is an option anymore unfortunately...

Guys

Sorry for not being able to answer all your individual PM's, been real busy back here setting up in Baguio.

The offer is still on the table, but please I ONLY have access to $500 and above......I don't have any $150 or $300....

If anyone is interested in $500 or above PM me, they will be FACE VALUE and no money changes hand till I give you the ticket in person.

I'm just trying to help out decent boxing fans and help them save a few $$

Roman - you should know me better than that mate....lol
