Title: Weekends Boxing - 3.3.18
Post by: The Hurricane on March 02, 2018, 02:52:59 PM
Some good fights on this weekend, Iím particularly looking forward to Bivol v Barrera as I think that will give a good indication of where he is at 175 with some really good potential unifications to be made.

Ortiz finally managed to not fail a drugs test so Wilder will finally get to make a defence worth paying attention to. Itís hard to know what to expect from Ortiz but if heís properly motivated he could cause Wilder some real problems.

Also, with any luck this weekend could see the end of Andre Dirrellís career. Just have to hope he doesnít manage to cheat his way out of another loss against his opponent like he did first time around.

I don't have a lot of time for Ortiz or Wilder but I can't help but think Ortiz's plodding come forward style plays into Wilders hands and makes him look a million dollars. He should be able to catch him at will. I would be fairly surprised by anything other than a Wilder win.

Great win for Josh Taylor last night wasn't the best of opponent but he looks big strong and powerful at the weight.

Bivol is a right handful.

Bivol is a right handful.

Yeah certainly is....a nasty puncher, but also a sharp boxer and controlled in his approach. Hopefully some mouthwatering fights ahead for him. Its a shame that Ward retired cus I'd have loved to see how Ward would have coped with Bivol. Can't help but feel that part of the reason Ward retired when he did was because he spotted some nasty stuff appearing on the horizon.

Gutted for Dave Allen. The man canít catch a break.

Considering he gets so many slots on big boxing events despite being utter gash, I'd say he catches plenty of breaks.
