I genuinely like Newcastle as they've proved a lot of doubters wrong this season.  I don't think there were many who had them staying up, let alone challenging for CL!

Even if Ba does go in the summer it's looking like you don't need him anyway as Demba number 2 is producing the goods.  Your midfield 4 of Guthrie, Cabaye, Tiote and Ben Arfa is class and I  genuinely want them to finish top 4!  The question is how many of them will be willing to stay when other clubs come calling in the summer?

I understand the frustration at the comment the other Blue made, seems like it was more baiting than anything, but it comes across slightly bitter how the whole Toon brigade jumped all over it.

I'd say it was a decent sized bite!

I don't rise to bait, people should know better on this thread  Wink The only player I see leaving if anyone was to leave it would be Tiote. He is pure class and Im sure clubs will be sniffing around to get him. I don't see Ba, Cabaye, Ben Arfa Or Jonas going. We have a few squad players I wouldn't be sad to see leave. OBERTAN!!

Next 4 games - Bolton,Stoke & Wigan. very winnable.. The impossible just could be possible!

It was the baiting your the one who bit   Wink

You cant make a ridiculous statement and then when someone legitimately takes it apart call it a bite. I am not a Newcastle fan so there was no emotion invested in the discussion from me, no bites here

Ey how was it a ridiculous? I asked if any club came in for 6 players who I mentioned who are performing at Newcastle would Newcastle be able to hold onto them and would Mr Ashley be able to offer sort of the same to keep them?! A genuine question nothing i see ridiculous about that

Yes tiote is a dead cert for me to go 20-25 mill, have to think BA will be leaving too! The way cisse has started after coming in jan is superb and Newcastle need to keep hold of him, but will you be able to of clubs come sniffing? Same as Afra, Jonas, cabaye! I can't personally see a club coming in for them all but it could happen!

And what is the impossible possible? Top 4?

Yeh the impossible (top 4) I would've settle for staying up and mid table. The reason I think Ba will stay is because his national team mate is now at the club and they love playing together. Though I may be wrong or just wishful thinking. Arfa has been really hit and miss since his bad injury (not mentioning names razz)  Wink only been the last dozen games he's shown his real quality again.

If it was a bite I reckon it backfired, if you compare Man City and Newcastles relative success this season, Newcastle as it stands completely own Man City

Well no they don't though do they.

If like you say we're just comparing this seasons success, then the league standings prove otherwise.

If we take in to account money spent, expectations and league standings then most definitely so, but that to me wasn't what you were saying.

Well I said relative success so that is taking all things into account, if Man City win nothing this year, they will have failed enormously, if Newcastle make it into Europe they will have succeeded enormously

You stated that if your owners buggered off someone would pick up the pieces, that is ridiculous assuming someone would pick up the toxic debt of a failing club

I won't disagree.  It annoys me when I see people slating us but that's obvious, we set ourselves up for it anyway and I understand people will say the stuff they do.  I'll be extremely pissed off if we don't win anything.

We spend too much money on shite players that don't perform.

How many games have they played together out of interest?

Agger seems to be injured a lot. Wasn't he out for a while with a broken foot?

The 2 situations are not even similar, Man City was sold for 200 million to the Arabs, since then they have spent huge sums, what £500 million??, that will all be against the club as a debt, they have a large squad of players all on huge contracts and wage bills, surely you must be able to take the Man City tinted specs off and realise that if the Arabs get bored of it, and if the team dont start returning their investment Man City could conceivably be in serious trouble

In fairness mate everybody seems to think they'll get bored and F*ck off, but do you really think they'd invest all this money in to the club and outside projects that don't even involve the team if they didn't have any intentions to stick around for the next 10+ years at least?

They've opened City football academys overseas in places like Africa and Abu Dhabi, there's been upgrades to every academy over here including the training ground and Platt lane.  They even pumped money to the council so they could get the metro line to run right outside the stadium for the fans!

I understand where you're coming from because so many owners jump ship nowadays and leave clubs in the shit, but I think our owners have a long term plan for the future and aren't just seeing us as a toy.
