If you put the effort into getting a job instead of arguing with people on here you would be quids in.

Thanks for your words of wisdom.

Martinez may do well at Liverpool they will struggle to find a top manager without European football competition so a second tier manager is a good option for them. As for Pardew if he was linked with Liverpool then I doubt he would show much loyalty to Newcastle one only as to look what he did at Reading when West Ham came calling.

He comes across on TV really well.  Loyalty to Wigan last year was good to see and rare nowadays

He is Wigan through and through and its hard to find that kind of loyalty in football. A lad who I know who writes for the wigan fanzine was invited to the club along with a few local football writers and newspaper people on behalf of Martinez. He took them to the changing rooms and talked for 2 hours with tears in his eyes about his love for the town, fans and the chairman. He did this not when Wigan were on the crest of a wave when we were 6 wins out of 8 it was mid season when we were 8 straight losses and everyone was calling for his head. There aint many Managers who would invite the press and talk openly when your in the middle of a crisis but he is a honest guy and did it because he wanted everyone to get behind the team.
Martinez is a top Guy idolised in Wigan by the loyal fans who remember him as a player and the service he as done as a manager. I would love to see him have another season but Liverpool are a club no manager wouldn't want a crack at. I wish him well I just hope the people behind the scenes treat him with the respect he deserves rather than a outsider and someone the fans don't see as high profile enough.

They are in the Europa league through the carling cup win

If you already have a pretty steady and safe job like Martinez and Rogers then i'd consider the Liverpool post a big risk at present. They've just lost 'one of their own', previous stars like Carragher & Gerrard are on their last legs and you're left with some expensive signings that so far haven't worked out. I can't imagine they have a massive war chest to throw at the squad either.

I can't see whoever takes over being given any time by the fans given the way Dalglish was adored unless they get instant results which is pretty unlikely.

i am by no means a liverpool fan, so i am entertained by the recent developments, entertained. nothing more.

I lived in liverpool when benitez was in charge, and to be fair i enjoyed them being a decent side especially in europe. worth watching the games in town etc

now, i was suprised at the poor attitude a sizable amount of fans had towards him and that did a fair bit in getting him the sack, and cant help but think that these people have got what they deserved. but there are also fans who realise that patience is needed and were pissed off by the whole thing.

anyway, regardless, i would be very worried if i was a liverpool fan, because there seems to be no direction at all at that club and hasnt been for years. the people making decisions seem to be weird narcissists like purslow who come and go. i cant fathom it out at all how fuckers like this are allowed to come in and F*ck things up with seemingly no accountability to the fans.

it leads to a bigger question. and this isnt aimed at liverpool more than anyone else. why bother with it any more? the owners end with nothing more than an expensive name if the fans disappear.
I would rather feel a part of a club playing non league football than a number paying over the odds to 'my' team playing in the '(insert sponsor here) premier division'

I find it all quite bizare, that many fans are complaining, but hardly any fans unions are taking anything like decent strides to rectify the problems. We want our club back, but we also want someone to Piss cash at it till we win everything, so we do nothing but sit and hope.

I still enjoy football but gave up on paying to watch league football a long time ago.
