Wolfie should join the PDC, Its the equivalent of Haye fighting welter weights in boxing terms lol.

No way is Dean Winstanley 29!!! His paper round must have been harsh as f**k!

Wolfie wouldn't join the PDC again. He is very staunch county darts, captains England, and believes in the tradition of darts.

When he did go to the PDC he did okay in a couple of tournements and didn't do bad on the floor, but the standards increased (But i do believe Adams has also improved since he did go in to it). Just look at the players who come from the BDO and join the PDC a lot have had a decent start. Mervin King started well, Van Barnveld breathed fresh air in to the game, Websters come across and do pretty well, Van de vort done well, Gary Anderson, James Wade, Mark Dudbridge, Wayne Mardle have all done well. So the nonesense of the standard not being good enough is bollocks. Although there are a couple of flops, Klassen, Van Gerwen etc.

Its the atmosphere on averages maybe the BDO doesn't win there, but the atmosphere and adrenalin of the PDC darts gets that little bit extra out of them.

If you had a team game between the top 8 from both sides, i think you'd find it would closer than many would think.

I don't think Adams would be a top player in the PDC the game in the PDC is noiser the format is longer and the players are all full time pro. I respect he as been a top player within the BDO but the PDC is like comparing the Premier League with League 1.

I agree Adams wouldn't be as successful in the PDC, But id like to see him have a go rather than sticking around the BDO smashing up lesser players.

BDO darts is good for bringing talent through, Must admit i dont follow the PDC, But probably would if i had sky!   Grin

I dunno what it is with the BDO and PDC, the amount of missed doubles 5's and 1's is something you dont see much of in the PDC the level seems so much higher on the world comp stage.

The BDO players are all semi pro and only play televised tourneys twice a year I think. The play a lot of county and international games but the standard isn't very high compared to the packed fixture list the PDC have put together which requires all the top players to be full time professional.
When you compare prize money between both organisations its pretty evident that someone like Lewis, Wade, Jenkins and King have all probably earned 3 times more last year alone compared to what Adams as earned being top dog in the BDO.

You are right, but its 3 times more expensive to go and see BDO darts at the lakeside, compared to the PDC.

I don't know if any of you play, but i've played Anderson, at the Northumberland open, and played a fair few BDO players in my time, and i tell you what off the big stage there is no differance between an Anderson, a John Boy Walton etc, they are all fantastic players.

BDO is a bit old school, but traditionally is still the home of darts, hence why Hearn wants his hands in it. I agree with a few points about Adam not being able to cut the mustard, but lets be honest he would easily make the quater finals of the PDC world championship, so he is stil a fantastic player

Adams would get torn apart in the PDC. Big fish in a small pond. His scoring is nowhere near the level needed to do well in the PDC - they are topping 104 -105 averages. Adams was only finding 92s and 93s.

The quality overall is definatly lower in the BDO, but Im suprised no ones mentioned the treble/doule freindly board in the PDC as being a factor when you compare the top players averages

Come on im not having that! the boards are the exact same size! the wires may differ a little. You arent truly saying the board has anything to do with the huge different in class between players?

Did you not read my post? I said the qualitys lower in the BDO but the wires do make a difference on occasions, the type of wire can make the difference between scoring a 60 or a 20/no score, thats noticable when I play in my kitchen never mind tournement darts. Its not what makes THE difference in the quality between the BDO and the PDC obviously but on occasions it can make a difference with averages

You mean the boards mate? Theres definatly a difference I own a winmau and an eclipse board and the wires are completely different, the unicorn eclipse board have a narrower wire, and the wires like a triangle shape so if you hit the wire it tends to slide down it and into the board, where as the winmau ones are fatter and round, so if you hit one of them the darts bouncing out

I see today Dave Chisnall is the latest player to secure a place in the PDC. Not sure what to think of him to be honest. Think he's ok but won't be challenging for any titles.

Unicorn boards deteriorate alarmingly quick. Winmau boards are better for a house for instance. Remember the blade 4 is definately an improvement on the 3.

Dave Chisnall will do alright in the PDC
