KOTELNIK ENDS KHAN DREAM !!
By Joe King
Amir Khan was knocked out in the fifth round in his challenge for the WBA Light Welterweight title in his encounter with Andriy Kotenik at the MEN arena in Manchester on Saturday night.
The Bolton boxer started the fight very positively and used his jab very effectively to keep the rugged Ukranian at a distance in the opening 2 rounds. Khan, who now trains under the guidance of legendary trainer Pat 'Bomber' Roach, was rocked in the 3rd by a feather fisted left hook, but managed to stay on his feet and use his footwork to evade Kotelnik. In round four, Khan seemed to turn the tables a little and confuse Kotelnik with quick combinations for which he had no answer, but in round 5 The feather fisted Ukranian, turned the tables once again but this time made sure the Bolton fighter stayed down.
Afterwards Khan told the crowd 'I am so sorry, I feel like I've let everyone down ,AGAIN'
'I've been doing a lot of work with 'Bomber' and hes been telling me that I've got to hit and move and not let him get anywhere near me because of my glass jaw.' mumbled Khan.
'You see,it doesnt matter how much work I put in,in the gym, because I've got great footwork, great speed and can throw hurtful punches to blown up bantamweights, but my chin has less durability than a cardboard bridge', he sobbed
Khan's record now falls to 2 fights and 2 losses to fighters his own weight.
The night proved to be a big diappointment for wannabees with Enzojokanelli getting spanked as well.

Nah it's round 6 that Kotelnik gets him. That's what I hope anyway. (I got it in the Prediction League)

Hall won a few rounds, wasn't one sided but once Hall realised walking Small down wasn't working the tide turned. Small stepped on the gas and finished the job pretty impressively to be fair.

Small looked impressive and Hall put the pressure on but the speed and higher skill levels were the difference.
Small was the underdog but his class told.

Thought the stoppage was a little premature but Saunders looked the business yet again. Angles, balance, power, variation of shots. Definitely the most impressive out of the three

Another reason I like Saunders is he has two kids at 19 which takes some doing But really, he is the only one not to have recorded his own entrance music before he has actually acheived anything What is it with them? Gavin with 'Funtime Frankie', Degale and his awful 'Chunky' track and Khan now with that shite produced by Capone Swerve it and take a leaf out of Saunders book
