Read my first post and it says i can't understand the hate towards the guy, I think he gets quite a bit of bad press on here and I dont understand why, I think he is doing his best and would love to know who could do better which was my question to Che in response to his other comments not the fact he said he didn't like him. By asking that question I don't see where as you put it I'm over his junk.

In regards to taking things personal I haven't in the slightest, as we all know there are more important things in life than this place but I thank you for your concern Smiley

I dont hate him, I just hate his head. Personally I can't see what we've gained since he took over, what's changed exactly?

Oh and he'd tell you grass was pink if it helped hype a fight.

As a boxing fan my wants are pretty simple. Show any of the big fights that are out there and preview/review them in shows like Ringside. Don't give us constant Khan and Haye updates, don't build up Groves-DeGale to be anything like as big as Eubank-Benn because it just isn't, don't completely ignore major results like Donaire destroying Montiel, just give us a more varied analysis of the boxing world. One of their shows had highlights of Martinez, Bute, Rigondeaux and it was one of the better Ringside shows I have seen. I don't know how much power Adam Smith or any of the guys backing boxing on Sky really have, but would it really be that complex to have more big fights from across the globe on Sky?

I agree with you there is a lot that could be added but like Che pointed out Sky pull the shots not Smith, they pull the shots and would want their main signed fighters to be shown, which is Haye and Kahn ( before the split ) they are/were the fighters they have signed for big money and will want them pumped up for the pay per views they sell. To make money !!!

They are the guys who bring the money in. Again another of Che's points was Sky got back into it since Setenta split and why is this ?? To make money !! they are not back in this because they want to help us hard core fans enjoy boxing from around the world on their channel.

I think Smith is doing his best to try and get the happy medium between Sky and cater for the fans as well, he isnt stupid, he knows what the fans want but at the same time has to apease the big boys who run the show.

Last weeks show had Kahn on Ringside which was prob because they didnt have time to switch it due to the split but then also had the Ortiz - Berto fight shown.

I think a lot of fans i see on here want everything and all for nothing, when the world doesnt work like that, a good example of this is the Degale - Groves fight gets made which we have all been screaming out for and a few moan they dont want to pay for it !! Unreal !!

I think we should be glad with what we do have maybe glass half full as if sky pulled the plug what would we have ??

Can't stand the Mr. Bean look-alike.

I remember when he teamed up with Spencer Oliver back in the day and the two looked like a comical pair. It was like watching Bean with a midget monkey.

His facial expressions come across as completely phony, especially when he thinks he has asked a serious question and turns to the camera to have that "this is important" look on his face as he purses his lips.

Adam, any validity of your questions are always taken away by your over the top expressions. Tone it down a bit!

The best I've ever seen was his interview with de la Hoya before khan maidana,

Smith - 'maidana, explosive, big puncher, dangerous,' (cue serious monged out look)

De la Hoya looked like he was thinking is this cabbage genuine?

I think Smith as been with Sky for many years and now he is in control of scheduling he as failed so far to deliver the big fights. Why as Smith never got us the big fights from the states like Williams - Martinez, JMM - Katsidis and even Cotto - Mayorga. Sky never even showed a single fight of Israel Vasquez - Rafa Marquez even though they had 4 barn storming fights.
Sky over the years have help build the profiles of many of today's big name fighters but once they have got to the World level they have abandoned showing there fights. Sky used to religiously cover the big fights and the likes of MAB, Mosley, Hopkins, ODLH, Morales, Cotto and Gatti were always shown regardless of who they were fighting. The old guard are no more so where is the next generation who they are going to invest in over a period of time. We have just as many top fighters either coming through or at World level and no one can say that the likes of Gamboa, Pirog, Alvarez, Frenkel, Rigondeaux, Rios, Vasquez Jr and Martirosyan aren't going to be amongst the leading names taking the sport forward in the next few years.
