Are you the 'Michael Connelly' who commented on the picture on FB calling Ward a twat and costing you £££. It sounds a bit bitter to me mate and childish, the cut is one that he could not fight with like that and if the shoe was on the other foot do you think Froch would fight with it.

Did any one catch froch this morning on soccer Am?

Do you think there's in substance in the fight being moved to LA at the staples centre?

Wouldn't Ward love that the cok

Pretty gutted especially as this was our first attempt at watching an overseas fight! I think its just bad luck, no real malice against Ward if he does have a nasty cut, although he should have let Hearn/Froch know the information first instead of posting it on twitter.

Flights are non-refundable and non-changable too, might only get the taxes back, so will go to the US anyway. Anyone else?

Is Thompson v Chambers still on for the 28th? Would be good to see some boxing while over there.

Joke of a cut. I was livid when i saw it properly.

Forget the crusty, covered in lotion pic - there is another which shows a slight nick above the eyebrow.

When Froch's eye was half shut and split, slightly over a week before Pascal, people panicked and he said "it will be no problem at all. Just you watch."

The guy has over a month to knit, stiches out usually 5-7 days, dissolving ones gone in 9 days tops. He'd have a red line there come fight night and that's it. As clean as they come.

Give over its a cut that easily requires stitches. I remember when ODLH fought JCC in 1994 and Chavez was opened up horrifically by a cut he sustained in training a few weeks before and it was nothing like as bad as Ward's. If that fight went ahead and Ward was opened up and the fight was a no contest who would feel aggrieved by it all. Froch would, Ward would, Showtime would and most of all the fans would.

This is not good at all. Now Froch actually has a chance of winning on cuts .

Just my luck

I can change our flights for £100 + difference in price which works out at about £200 each if the fight
is in December.

However, my missus cannot get time off work in December so if it is re-arranged for then
we will have to go on the original trip to NY which was always the backup plan anyway.

I may then rebook for just myself although the price of everything is higher in december which
may stop me from going.

To be honest even if the fight is re-arranged into the New Year I'm not sure that I will risk another date
change.

Either way I think the number of fans travelling is going to be a lot fewer than for the October date  Sad

I'm not gonna start lying to suit my agenda. Your quite right, that a cut can open up. But once it's knitted and matured it's weaker than when it's fresh past 4 weeks.

That would be ironic as Ward is usually so careful as to not inflict cuts on his opponent by illegal means. What a terrible shame it would be if a cuts injury were to cost him a fight.

I feel as bad about that as you do. In fact I'll probably get myself over to Asda to purchase an industrial sized bottle of Night Nurse just so I can get some sleep.
