My mrs has had balance boards, ankle weights and all sorts of crap to "get in shape" rather than hit the gym or stop eating pies for breakfast.

Now she has said she wants to give these electric belt things a whizz.

I dont think they would work myself, but does anyone disagree ? im not spending £40 or whatever on something that will end up in the loft in a bin bag.

They dont do shit! Maybe if you left them on all day they might?

Although it is funny if you wire one up to your mates bicep and one to his tricep whilst he is having a drink and watch him punch himself in the face!

its only worth getting them if she does at the very least some gentle exercise or its pointless... you cant just sit there on your arse and expect it to work. It helps t tone... not to loose weight

What Sez said, it's no good unless you are already partially toned. My other half had one a couple of years back and it seemed pretty useless to be honest.

I bought one years and years ago when I couldn't face the reality of having to do exercise to lose weight. It didn't do shit and I left it on for quite a while and tried it for weeks. It should be treated just as a supplement to an exercise and diet regimen. If it worked then people would be reporting success with it everywhere and that doesn't happen. If she can't face exercise then ask her to think of an activity that she would enjoy as you'll have more chance of sticking to it.

Mate ive lived in the gym since i was 6 years old.

Exercise + plus good nutrition = weight loss.

All your mrs needs to do is to eat little and often and may be a brisk walk 4 times a week and she will get there.

Weight management is the easy when you know how but the hardest thing in the world when taking advice from an advert on the tele.

Pointless mate, they may twitch your abs - but what is the point if your stomach is sitting under a pile of flab - You may have the best abs in the world but no one will ever see them if you dont drop your body fat, and there is only one way to do that follow Havoc's advice above
