I'd hope Eddie Hearn would have more about him that fat Mick and rely on more than a hand shake but if Bute won a controversial decision at home I think he would try and wriggle out the 2nd leg
that would be my only worry as well jaff , IF its a win for bute ( which i doubt .... ) would he come to nottm for the 2ng leg ... weve been tricked before , once bitten ?? hopefully get a nottm fight first !! homecoming . carl has enough air miles earnt in last 2 years !!! hopefully we will hear something in next week or so ..... |

exactly my thoughts .. when i spoke to bute in ac , he said i fight froch in canada !! i mentioned nottm , but he just smiled , went quiet . lets get a nottm fight !!! |

Feel for carl , im not one for all this warrior stuff , boxers travel all the time just the ones who make big money dont seem to , froch has never been a money fighter even when he went on itv vs pascal there wasnt a sudden rush of support for him but that dosent mean he should have to go to canada to fight bute.
For me he does deserve a home coming fight and if they travel to canada eddie hearn is gonna have a lot to answer for if as i fully expect win lose or draw they tell eddie and carl to F*ck off when it comes to the return leg .
So carls best hope is bute leathers him and feels sorry and gives him a 2nd chance here as its easy money for him ? Bad bad move under the circumstances of the super 6 , bute not competing and just frochs general luck in negoatating.

A homecoming would be about right , a chance for fans to see him fight. Lennox Lewis v Botha was Lewis homecoming for fans who couldn't afford to travel to USA to see him .
Let's not forget he's not fought in uk for 2 years ! It's bound to be a sell out !

Totally agree. I dont see a reason why Bute has to be taken on in Montreal before the summer. There are a number of us on here who have been priviledged enough to get to most, or all of Carls fights over the last few years. For the rest of Carls fans, particularly in and around Notts, this has just not been a realistic possibility. I don't care who the opposition would be for a March/April fight in Notts, just give Carl a chance to fight at home. He deserves it along with the fans! Sort it Eddie. |

Good news for Froch.
InterBox announced today that, due to the unavailability of WBC/WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward due to an injury, IBF Super middleweight champion Lucian Bute wants to fight Super Six finalist Carl Froch on April 14 even though SHOWTIME (whom Bute is under contract to) “does not share the same vision or enthusiasm” in the fight. InterBox president Jean Bedard stated that they will pursue a Bute-Froch fight with or without a U.S. TV network. “We have to do everything in our power to make the fight with Froch,” said Bedard, “we owe this fight to our fans, who have been supporting us and following Lucian’s career since the very beginning.” Bedard added that SHOWTIME’s preference for Bute was to match him with Andre Dirrell.
