I believe so ..on my model it's better when it's turned up ,but I have to think of next door.i find the old model has a very deep base and sometimes I would like to just alter it a bit.

I like B&O however its a style over substance question do you want a product thats expensive looks the part but performance wise isn't as good as something costing 50-60% less ? If home cinema is done right I went OTT and the result was a livingroom dominated with boxes and speakers and takes away from how it could be Reds being the perfect example of a neat livable system thats what I'd aim for rather than the B&O route.

Got set up with the 609 and Boston speakers. Currently decorating the room so can set up nicely over the next couple of weeks.

I've had limited time to play about with it but some quick questions:

1. Do you always have your receiver on when watching TV? Because my Sky box is now connected to the receiver by HDMI, I have to turn on the Onkyo to get picture. The Sky has only 1 HDMI
port.

2. Do you use the presets much? I've had the Sports setting on for watching footy as it sounds really good.

3. Sometimes the picture and audio is slightly out of sync. Is there an easy way to fix it?

Cheers fellas.

Is it sky hd? You need to buy an optical connection , to get Dolby digital. About £4.00 off eBay for 1.5m one. Then once you connect it, go into sky menu and select settings, audio, output=Optical.

Makes huge difference.

The lip sync is in the picture settings in the receiver menu. It occurs because the sound is processed quicker than the sound so you might have to put a delay in of 20-60ms. It can also be done in the Sky settings too, but not as effective to tweak.

With regards the surround settings, once your optical connection is on, it will 'click' between Dolby Digital or standard sound. For standard sound input received, the best setting is PLii x Movie for the output.

Yes my amp is always on. My tv has audio return channel ARC, so the amp turns on and off automatically when it detects the tv is on or off.

All modern tv's have ARC built into their first Hdmi slot, simply for that function.

Great mate thanks. Took the Amp to Sky box HDMI connection out and hey presto the Dolby Digital via the toslink magically appeared after I changed the setting on the Sky menu to Dolby D.
