Exactly, all he is is a bigger version of Terry Newton. Last man in and pick on the smaller guys because you aint the balls to do it to your own sized opposition,
When did Terry Newton ever back down from anybody. I clearly remember him going toe to toe with Wilkin and dropping him at Knowsley Road a few years ago and he did it with Brian McDermott in 2000 after McDermott side winded him 3 years earlier when he was only 17. He may have cheap shotted Long and Wild when Saints played Wigan at the JJB but that was because there was history between the 3 of them and both of them had said things in the press to stir up tension before the game. Terry was a hard lad believe me he would have stood with anybody and never was ruffled when he was playing for Wigan, Leeds, Wakey or Bradford. He was one player the Aussies had respect for because he played a hard game and never complained when he came off worse. Saints fans hate Terry purely because who ever he played for against them he always had it on him. Wilkin on the other hand tries to act the big man but asked a ref to send off jeff lima for a chicken wing tackle. He as zero respect of me because in all the years I have been watching rugby I have never seen a player ask a ref to send another player off.

Think it was Gilmore who he did in the same game as he broke longs orbital. What was the bad blood about between him and Longy? I always assumed they were mates.

They are only the ones he got caught for, he loved being the last man into any tackle with a swinging arm. He never once tried it on with Cunningham or sculthorpe.

Yeah it was Gilmour I always get confused between him and Wild because they were both at Wigan together at one point. I can't speak for Terry but I know him and Danny Sculthorpe had a few run ins with Long on the pitch. I once asked Danny about this in a bar in Wigan and he laughed it off saying he liked Sean but on the pitch the only way you could stop him was by roughing him up and Coaches had told him to do. I think Terry was probably told the same he wasn't the brightest of lads and woud have enjoyed doing it as Long made no secret of his dislike of Wigan and how successful he become at Saints. I do know for a fact they had buried the hatchet after Terry was caught with HGH. Terry says in his book he didn't mean to break Long's jaw but he went out to hurt Gilmour.

I haven't read Longs book I would never give that c**t a penny. Can pick it up dirt cheap. It's a very simple read, and Quite a few big laughs especially from early in his career! I'd recommend it tbh. Doesn't take himself seriously at all

My Uncle is a mate of his he as known him years he used to drink in a club my Uncle worked on the doors for 15 years. I used to call him rotten as he played for Saints but everyone says off the pitch he was wild and good fun to be around. I have seen him round town many times and you always get folk giving him grief but I never did as its only a game at the end of the day. My bro goes in his Dad and Brother nutrition shop and his Dad is a real character. Bernard was recently dragged into the Gleeson drug case he wasn't charged with anything but he as been done in the past for selling under the counter.

Not seen it yet but I hear they are doing a minutes applause at the Castleford - Wigan game. As much as I didn't like the Millward era at Wigan I am really gutted for him losing his lad like that.

Millwood was a wigan legend imo Its not the time to speak ill of the guy but what Maurice Lindsay and Dave Whelan did was just pure amatuerish by taking him to Wigan. It was literally a 2 fingered gesture to the Saints board but one that would back fire spectacular. He was sacked by Saints for gross misconduct and Wigan were struggling with a young coach so they brought in Millward a few days after and Betts resigned in protest. The worse thing was that Millward slagged of half of the Wigan team a few weeks before in the press and now he was the head coach and tried to change things to quick and lost the dressing room. I am not saying he is a bad coach but at Saints he was friendly with all the players and they all liked him and he enjoyed a lot of success there. At Wigan a lot of the senior players like Newton, Carney and Guisset all had problems with him and all left at the end of that season he was in charge. The players obviously closed ranks and stopped trying when he brought his own players in and when he left Wigan were bottom of the league and in massive trouble. A lot of fans refer to Millward as ''Agent Millward'' but you can't say he is a bad coach judging on what he did at Wigan.
