If anything last night makes Saints vs Wigan and Warrington more interesting games, atleast we will hit them with a bit of form and a decent level of confidence.

Nobody has really amazed me this season, Warrington made enough errors in the first half against Wigan to the point that Wigan maybe should of had a healthy lead going into half time. If our lads can do better given the same ball and field position I am not sure but fingers crossed.

If Westwood continues to be a dirty twat with his swining arm against Wigan's big lads then it is hard to see him staying  on the pitch with Gaskill and Lomax stepping him all night.

I would go as far as saying that this seasons winner will possibly be the weakest winners of the championship in quite a while, for me Saints, Wigan and Warrington, Leeds where all better teams last year than they are this year.

We do not appear to be scoring the try's from deep inside our own half as Saints are known for but appear faster and more deadly near the try line, if we can come out of the next two games with two points ill be happy.

It sounded last night like we had finally developed a good kicking game, using that to turn Toppkins around either early on in the sets or on the last tackle can hopefully take something out of him which kills a lot of what Wigan have to offer.

I agree with Westwood never rated the Guy not only is he ugly as F*ck he is also a very sly player. Now Gaz Hock is back in the England train on squad it should be the end of him at that level with a bit of luck. I also agree with the Tomkins comment if he catches the ball on the front he can easily make the yards back but turning him around causes problems. One good thing Saints have is a kicking game and I think Wigan will struggle next week as the squad is far to weak compared to the other 3 big teams. At this stage of the season losses don't really have a impact its when the season gets to August that games become more serious.

Good on you pal.

For the sake of this thread though can you please resort to being bitter and biased, it will help you fit in more that's all. Wink Grin

Bentham should never ref again! I saw him cheering when Saints scored. And shaking hands with McManus after the match.

Got to my first live game of this season on Fri at the JJB. Ive been going to Man City all season and their games get nowhere near wigan v warrington in terms of atmosphere and excitement, the result helped as well. We were sat with the wigan fans, my missus was going mad screaming and shouting everytime warrington scored, not one bit of bother which is one of the reasons i love rugby league. I can imagine if that was at footy she'd be getting her head caved in whilst I hid the bogs Grin Although the wigan fans were quite happy to scream abuse and give the wanker sign at the warrington fans sat 300 metres away and then sit down and carry on a conversation with us  Grin

Police wouldn't even allow fans to mingle if they could help it. We were stood next to Saints fan yesterday, he was on his own so we just ended up stood together having a chat. Football fans play off their idiotic behaviour as passion, but it's simply not that.

This is what got me into RL really. That and the respect officials get, some players push it but football could learn a hell of a lot from it.

f***ing funny you two moaning about Westwood you know  Cheesy

I had no problem swinging his arm at Lauaki, he deserved it TWICE!

Westwood just needs to get a better aim and not smash his own team mate next time

And how the F*ck can Westwood be classed as ugly when he is up against Gareth 'twatted with every stick on the ugly tree' Hock

FWIW I think Westwood is a superb player. Every team needs a player like him. He'll roll his sleeves up and run through brick walls. Every pack needs a workhorse who doesn't mind doing the dirty work.

And yeah the Luauki thing was deserved IMO! Wasn't too dissimilar to Ablett on King against Manly. Raised forearm into Peacocks face, little tussle and WHACK! Get down!

Bingo, I watch the lad most weeks and he will give everything and never wants to go off, similar to Graham in the respect that he will willing to play for 80 minutes and get stuck in as one of the big lads, he isn't poor technically either

As for Luauki, how the F*ck he didn't get sent off for the spear tackle (after leading with the elbow) I will never know, Silverwood bottled it for me and that's why Wane hooked him

"The only reason I'm not sending you off is because he didn't land on his head"

WTF! They hide behind the 'report' system too much for me and before anyone starts I thought Bridge was very lucky for that elbow drop the other week

silverwood has had 3 shockers in consecutive weeks.

The report system is stupid too I agree. They just cop out of making a call themselves. It was 100% red. The intent was there for all to see! Westwood isn't dirty he just plays the game hard. I like that in a forward, i bet the older generations like it too.

On the subject of Warrington though, I haven't seen a great deal from Myler yet? Admittedly I haven't seen loads of Warrington games but he's never stood out for me. It's still the Briers show big time (who I think is proper proper class!!)

He is yet to do it for me too mate. Has the odd great game but nothing brilliant, makes too many errors. Gets away with it for being a youngster I think but won't be able to for much longer

I still don't know how they're going to replace Briers  Undecided

I have read the forums and twitter and its awash that the players had a problem with RS and his methods on the training pitch. I don't think it helped matters that he publicly threatened to drop certain players and its easy then to close ranks and stop trying so that the coach is the one under pressure. It happened at Wigan many years ago with John Doherty and it happens in any team sport look at Chelsea and AVB.
I am surprised that Rush and Cunningham have been given the job for the season because where does that put them if they win the SL title and CC. Nathan Brown is a good Coach heard he is the man from 2013

Mike rush has gone public saying he doesn't want the full time position. He only wants his youth set up role. As for Cunningham. Not sure what his intentions are but personally it was a great sight seeing him with pen and pad just chilling up against the wall having his say to the boys at half time.

I never said I don't rate Westwood, and u can't knock his work ethic but he does seem to give away lots of penalties.
Against saints he will have smaller and faster lads coming at him which will trouble him, him doing atleast ten mins in the bin if not worse is not an outrageous suggestion.

Bradford looking at a grim future, I aint a fan but for the sake of the league I hope they sort it out.

They are the super league equals of Leeds United.

Ganson was at John Wilkin's testimonial dinner other week talk about being leaving yourself open for bias. I think our refs aren't consistant enough and some refs like to attract the headlines. The best ref for me is Ben Thaler he is by far the fittest and gets the game played as fair and open as possible. I liked Ashley Klein but he is in the NRL now and as done well.
But the best ref of all time was John Holdsworth who was a right short tempered yorkshireman who F***ed and blinded his way through matches.

check out this bad tempered game that was plated in Milwaukee between Wigan and Warrington in 1990.

Jon Holdsworth? Hated when he reffed the derby. Saints never got anything off him.
