Degale won a Gold medal at the Olympics on the back foot and didn't look doing it. He as looked good in patches since being a pro but his style is pretty easy to work out the higher he as progressed. I think he is a good fighter but I don't think he will be become a World Champion at any time in the future.
Good points tito. His style is pretty much to try and frustrate the opponent with his movement, stop the opponent getting set and then nick points here and there. That worked wonders over 3x3s and against fighters who are at a distinct speed and technical disadvantage but falls down a bit over twelve rounds as the levels go up and the fights get more competitive. I still think that the basic attributes he possesses of good feet, balance, defence and speed can be moulded into an excellent pro style; I just think he needs to slow the feet down, get tighter when working in range and hit with a bit more snap and authority. In retrospect you get the impression that he has been strengthening his strengths and neglecting his weaknesses.
I thought in the past that his fast feet and busy style would take him a long way straight from the start but I was surprised how george and then wilcewski have figured him out quite comfortably. He needs to acknowledge the problems and adapt.
