Stinks of PED's... Secret Spartan training camp. No friends or family allowed near it, no reporters. Looks alot fitter, more resiliant, more powerful. Get the man a blood test NOW!!!

Apart from that, easy nights work for Devon. You cant come in with just a plan A at this level.

I thought they were doing drug tests before the fight for this?

Good performance from Devon that. I'm pleased he showed the heart and courage to go all the way, sadly only to 10 rounds.

Surprised Maidana only won 1 round on all 3 judges cards!!

Just the usual Piss tests. They only pick up steroids and rubbish used years ago. Recent stuff is easy to mask. Not saying he definitely is juicing, but theres something very strange about the difference in my opinion, a difference a move in weight doesnt merit.

I don't think it really proves anything against Maidana, who can be outboxed by anyone, he has. I skill, no speed or no footwork, he only looks decent when people trade or mix it with him, shows Khans limitations again for me!

Good win for Alexander at this stage but Maidana is made for someone like him.He showed again he lacked that devastating power at the top level and just isnt that good.

I was going to say that too but didn't wanna risk turning it into a thread about Khan!

Decent enough fight. Should've been a 12 rounder also.

Maidana didn't look great at the weight however Devon looked in great condition with no fat on him, so maybe he was struggling to make 140 after all

In all Fairness Alexander was fighting at 140 since he was 17,so obviously his body was filling out naturally over the years as he was maturing. So for him to keep on making 140 into his mid 20s would mean having to weaken himself.A move up to 147 was the main reason why he looked healthy and is able to Generate strength in his legs from the natural weight Gain.

We have seen the same with Ortiz whose conditioning improved as he went up in weight coz he too fought at 140 when he was still in his teens.

Disagree mate.

I think the only injustice that happened prior to this bout was the massive overrating and exaggeration of Maidana's ability. If you box and move well at world level you can beat him without to much trouble.

Agreed. Maidana, while tough and strong has an extremely limited skill set

Its just my opinion. Maidana looked awful, he just put on 7 pounds of bulk from what I saw.

However something was majorly different with Alexander. I would be pretty sure if he was rigourously tested something would be found. Just my opinion. Its also only based on Alexander, and not Maidana. The reason it was a 10 rounder is because Alexander was fading badly in recent fights. He could have done 20 rounds last night, and was hitting WAY harder. Maidana was hurt many times. I just reckon something fishy is happening.

I've not seen the fight yet so can't comment on his fitness ect. but it's not like Alexander was feather fisted before, he demolished Urango with one shot

That was an absolutely beauty of a shot that uppercut!

I think it's disrespectful to accuse someone of using PEDs with no evidence at all tbh.

Just watched the full fight all the way through and I thought Alexander looked fantastic.

His inside fighting was class as well and he was beating Maidana at that, which I never expected in a million years.

His shots had some serious power in them and at times I thought he had Maidana out of there.

He looks like a completely different fighter, he even dug in and went to the trenches when he needed to and that's where the question mark was.  As far as i'm concerned, he's just found his ideal weight class.  I won't even begin to accuse him of PEDs until there's concrete evidence, I just think it's disrespectful.

I'd love to see him take on the Berto/Ortiz winner for a title.

There is every reason to question him.The sad truth is that horses get tested more stringently than boxers. To me this is a very obvious case of a man who needs to be rigorously tested. If a marathon runner smashes his PB by 15 seconds what happens? If a long jumper beats the rest of the field by a foot what happens? If a swimmer comes from nowhere and hammers his pb what happens? Alexander was completely different last night. Even against Urango he looked shite before he pulled out that monster shot. Against Witter nothing special either.

As per usual people would rather bury their hands in the sand. I used to blindly defend Pac as i was a huge fan. The truth is that he needs to be tested very badly too. Its pre historic and embarrassing.

Apart from a few moments it was a fairly tedious fight.
