Was really looking forward to this until when I found out that its only a 10 rounder has taken a bit of shine off. I thought things would get really interesting if the fight made it to round 9 as Maidana is dangerous for 12 rounds and Alexander hasnt really shown bags of heart at the top level.

Its a farce. Its a 10 rounder and in Alexanders back yard, along with it being at 147. I hope Maidana catches the cowardly bastard early and ends his career. The 10 round stunt worked barely against Matthysse hopefully he gasses even earlier than usual this weekend.

Chino TKO6 for me. A barrage of right hands making Alexander bitch out AGAIN.

Im not sure about that Che.Maidana has never knocked an apponent out between 9 and 12 rounds.

If it goes to points Alexander wins and if there's a ko i reckon it will be for Maidana.Im looking forward to this one because im not arsed who wins it.

If Bradley busted up Alexander then I expect Maidana to be too strong and aggressive for him as well.

Mid fight stoppage for Maidana imo.

In fairness thats not really reflective of anything! He's only been in a handful of fights that have gone beyond 9 rounds. In one of them he practically had his opponent stopped in the tenth and against another he was giving him a hiding through those rounds and got robbed on the cards. He's definately strong in the last few rounds, and Alexander certainly doesnt seem to be. This all set up to suit Devon.

Another thing is that having the 2 rounds shaved off helps a fighter psychologically. If you get badly hurt for example at the end of the eight round of a 12 round fight. You have a long long way to go to survive it and chances are you wont. However when you know that you've only a round and a bit to hang on for you g=can hold, get on your bike, spoil, take one or two KD's etc etc....

Its definitely a set up to help Alexander. Quite pathetic really, the undercard being a 12 rounder and the main being a 10 rounder?? It was the same in the Matthysse fight too. Pretty embarrassing that they need to go to these lengths along with getting robberies from the judges to keep an average fighter on HBO.

i fancied alexander by tight decision before i heard it was 10 rounder

now i feel even more so that alexander will put on a clinic, come through a couple of dicey moments and grind out a solid points win

Matthyse is under-rated imo, he is everything maidana is but with better skill and boxing ability.

Alexander - urango 2 for me, maidana will come forward and walk into alexanders uppercuts all night long, i dont see a stoppage only cuz maidana is one tough badass.

If its in alexanders hometown and 10 rounds as mentioned its obviously to favour devon.

I dont rate Maidana and his power as much as others do at the top level.Since he has been fighting the top guys in the division his power has'nt looked as devastating as it was. He's a good fighter/slugger and is tough but skill beats him 9/10 imo and Alexander has the skill to beat him.

you dont rate his power at the top level?? he had ortiz crawling around the ring, he closed morales' eye shut after 6mins of action, he had khan all over the shop...the guy can bang mate.

does alexander really have this skill set ya talk of?? he clearly lost the kotelnik and mattysese fights and bitched out against bradley with a paper cut over his eye.....even if he did have the skills does he more importantly have the heart to deal with chino?

Maidanas all about power, but hes easy to hit and can be outboxed all night, whether Alexander has the skill to do it remains to be seen. Khan got involved and nearly went asleep, but a shell of Morales outboxed him for large spells in their fight and made him look silly a number of times!
