I couldn't do it me.  If I had a ticket for something that was like gold dust, I'd have to sell it at face to somebody I knew.  Couldn't live with myself If I touted it off at a massive price instead.

The bit that got me was when the guy was saying he had an envelopes with hundreds of unsold take that tickets, just because nobody wanted to pay the extortionate mark up prices.  There are people who genuinely want to go and should get them for face, but instead the tickets go to waste because of some greedy broker.

I understand where your coming from razz. Ticket touts are pigs. However, I would have no issue with you making money of your ticket that you purchased with your money. It's a commodity and the price of well sought after but limited commodities will rise. If I wanted to by your house and you had it valued for £200,000 but you originally bought it for £120,000 how is that any different

It's more a case that these swines bribe ticket outlets by way of the fact they will buy a wad, instead of 2 or 3 tickets - thus decreasing availability and pushing the prices up.

When they have zero intention of attending the event. The box office makes a small profit of say 5% but these are then making 1000% or higher.

A reasonable profit is no bad thing - daylight robbery is something else.

I agree. I bought a package deal for hatton-mayweather and said I wanted mid range tickets. The guy came back and said the ticket price has gone up so we had to pay him more and then he came back and said he needed more again. We told him no and asked what was going on and he explained he was getting them through a tout and he was asking for more and more. Eventually told him no and we ended up sat in the gods in $150 seats even though we paid about £7-800 each, which was about $1500 at the time.

I bought 12 x V festival tickets last year.

Made a very tidy profit selling them on ebay the day after. (almost double)

Then went V on the day without a ticket and bought one off a 'tout' outside for less than original ticket cost price.

No mate that how I always did it.

V97 (Prodigy, Mansun etc) it was roasting hot and we went to Argos, bought a tent and bought face value ticket outside.

V98 (Verve) bit wet but still doable, did same thing.

V99 I think it was, peed it down and one of the acts pulled out so didn't bother. If we'd have bought in advance we'd have been screwed.
