Hearing whispers of other venues.

Nothing concrete though.

It would sell the MEN or the 02.

i would iamgine hearn would opt for the O2 as hes a southerner ,MEN is better .

...AND THE NEW!!!

« Reply #17 on: March 06, 2012, 02:15:09 PM »

ive been to the notts fm and MEN for boxing and would say the MEN is better only if its a) full to the rafters and b) u have good seats

Notts fm is better if you just buy your tickets blind and rock up as you have a good view from anywhere.

Personally purely selfishly id prefer it to be at the notts arena as its piece of Piss for me to get to and u can just buy a handful of tickets for you and your mates and not worry about seat allocations

if its at the MEN i'd have the added hassle of transport/stopping over and would try to get seats halfway down the tiers in the centre, which if u can get them are the best seats in the house but thats the challenge.

think capacity of fm arena is 9k or so, MEN can be opened up to around 18k? so obviously the promoters/fighters will want to maximise their revenue.

Purely for the venue I would go with the O2 as its a fantastic modern venue, ok the seats in the gods are not that good but I would prefer it over the MEN which I think is a dated sh#t venue.

For a p#ss up weekend it would have to be notts and as has been said the seats are all ok

Both clubs are shit holes and their making a big mistake considering that.

Much smarter going MEN or O2.

I've been to several football boxing events, was row D for Hatton's between Carl Froch and Kamara - and it was poor view even from there. They had ring on stilts then tent over the top and nobody got a good view.

Is it me or does the fact they are still looking around for venues even with the option of the Notts arena !?!

They obviously do not want it there for what evere reason.

Looking more and more like 02 to me !!

Better venue and more chance of tickets, I wouldn't of minded a weekend on the booze in notts though.

Really hope it isnt the O2. Watched Haye there a few years ago and £75 seats were shocking, awful view. If you've already worked out how much this fight will cost you to go, x2 if its O2  Sad. Maybe slighlty negitive still fantastic that Bute is even coming to the UK  Lips Sealed

Dont hold your breathe! I still get the feeling he is going to pull out (think I have been stung too many times before!)

I hope its the arena in Notts, if not it would have to be the O2 if the MEN is free, no point in having it at arenas of a similar size to the Ice Arena (i.e. Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle) if the Ice Arena is free.

The O2 is a pain, the only easy hotel to stay in is the holiday express, anything north of the river is a ball ache (Haye vs Enzo anyone!).

Also, im not convinced Froch sells 20,000 seats in London. In Nottingham yes, but how many of the casual Nottingham fans would travel to London to watch their local guy?

Stick it the Ice Arena Eddie! Decision due soon, tickets supposedly on sale on Monday!

Enzo - Haye was a totally different kettle of fish mate as it was 2am in the morning if they stick to normal times then the underground will be open and that gives you access to 1000's of hotels, also the fact that you wont have the Welsh v English thing will make for a much better atmosphere...

I saw quite a few fights that night and if it is the 02 I am sure the atmosphere will be better this time around.

I do agree with the comment made about the £75 tickets being up in the sky, heres hoping IF it is the 02 the prices are dropped a bit...

I'm tempted to say if it's not Nottm, they can stick it up their arse, but I'll not go quite that far yet.  I've already booked a Nottm Hotel, so that would more or less ensure that it won't be there now!  I won't go to any football stadium, and MEN's too far for me these days.  O2 is a possibility, but it's more likely I'd be watching from an armchair frankly.  I've only just caught this thread, and if they're gonna fook us about again, it'll take a lot to get me there, despite my support for Froch.  I haven't forgotten a wasted weekend in Atlantic City yet  -  no matter who is to blame, there's no denying that a Froch fight is doomed from the very start!   Angry
