Barrera is a legend. Imagine what it must have been like watching him spar in his prime in the build up to a fight.

I'm going to a 'sportsmans' dinner at some hotel tonight...with Ricky and Marco both in attendance. Not looking forward to being sat in a room full of the plastic gangsters and flash types these events tend to attract, but it'll be great to hear what the fighters have to say....and the 4 course snappin' is also cause for much celebration as far as i'm concerned Some priceless moments for the likes of Quigg, Crolla etc.....sparring a true living legend. Though he did fine in the round we watched, Quigg's biggest flaw was highlighted. He fights too tense and needs to relax more in the ring. In against a guy with the relaxation of Barrera could really see how 'tight' Quigg fights. I've watched Scott live a couple times and always been impressed. Indeed i've compared him to a young DelaHoya, but Oscar also shared the same flaw and fought very tense. In time this lessened, and hopefully Quigg can also learn to relax more.

im glad that i went to see khan-barrera as i can say i saw him fight.
It was hilarious that in khan's home country 90% of the fans where there for barrera! there were even groups in sombreros and ponchos, every1 was cheering barrera madly when he walked in and booing khan.
Amazing considering barrera cant speak english really and is pretty expressionless and plain as a character outside the ring
it just shows the true boxing legends who prove it in the ring get the respect they deserve not the plastic hype jobs like khan who handpick and craft their careers, overlooking fighters like prescott and peterson whenever the hype train builds up too much steam behind them.
Trying to feed off barreras name way after his prime was a lame move and the way the fight ended was poor too but barrera came out with the moral victory as he battled on regardless against a younger, bigger, faster boxer who inflicted an axe wound on his head with a head clash.

Marco is quality, I met him on Monday in a town called Wellingborough where he was doing photos and signing bits at a friends picture/sports memrobilia shop.
Got a good snap with Marco and his official WBC belt which was brought over by the WBC from America, really chuffed with that. Think the belt had more minders than Marco did!
He said the two words that had stood out during his time so far here in the UK were 'Hatton' and 'comeback'..lovely bloke, and great to have met an all time legend

Did anyone else find Sky's interview attempt pretty ropey? It seemed to me that they hadn't known he was coming and had to make it up on the spot when the reality was that most of the show was dedicated to him. It seemed to me they couldn't string two questions together without mentioning Khan's name.

Well said. The roar when Barrera's name was announced will stay with me for a long time. A real shame the officials used the cut to give Khan the win. For all his legendary status, he needs a bloody haircut. Looks like a Mexican Richard Hammond.
