Former WBC light heavyweight champion and fellow Canadian had words of warning for his countryman Bute ahead of his trip to Nottingham in May.
Pascal, who lost a points decision in a fight-of-the-year with Froch for the vacant WBC super middleweight title back in 2008, spoke candidly of the experience to Canadian website CyberPresse.
"The mistake I committed against Froch, it's been that I fought his way instead of boxing my way. I went to war. To beat Froch, should not go to war. You have to be technical and tactical. Because Froch, when he goes to war, he is in his element." said Pascal 26-2 (16ko)
"Bute is very technical and tactical. The only problem is that there it will be in Nottingham.
"It's a very enthusiastic crowd (in Nottingham), but also a crowd very, very hostile, which creates an electric atmosphere. When Bute enters the arena and he will hear 10,000 hooligans shouting the name of Froch, he will realize he is not at the Bell Centre. This is something very intimidating if you're not mentally prepared.
"Also this is the first time that Bute will have a crowd against him. This is the first time he will fight in a major fight abroad. It'll be a great challenge for Bute. Bute certainly appears to have the tools to fight Froch. However, Froch also has the tools to fight Bute. That's why this fight will be very interesting to follow.

"It's a very difficult fight to predict. Bute will not be used to getting hit so hard by Froch, I know it will hurt. I know it will hurt because it hurt me. I can not pretend that I'm better than Lucian Bute. But what I know is that I am stronger physically and stronger than him. That said, I wish good luck to Lucian Bute. I stand behind him as all Quebecers and I hope he will come back to Quebec with the belt on May 27.
Fight schedule aside, Pascal hopes to be ringside to see this fight answer a lot of questions about both men.
