He only said it makes sense to keep a Jerry can of fuel extra and specifically said not to panic buy! It is a very British thing to panic buy. I think it could end up being a shrewd move though, if everyone does fill up and people have reserves in stock it will negate any effect of a strike should it come. Unite and Len McClusky and the trade unions are ultimately to blame, they are trying to bring a summer of discontent attacking the country at a holiday period, it will get worse and worse as the Olympics and other bank holidays come around and Bob Crow sticks its oar in. Remember the average trucker is on in excess of 41k pa, strike really?

Strikes should be fuckin banned with the state of the country at the minute. If they won't drive the tankers I'm sure there are plenty of other folk that would. I would urge everyone to get a jerry can of fuel... And burn unite and the t.u's to the fuckin ground.

The thing is, due to the panic buying mentallity, the demand for petrol is higher than normal, so with normal supply, it wont fulfill the increase in demand.
In theory, everyone should buy as normal but of course in reality everyone demands more!
Read earlier that the typical petrol lorry driver earns £45k per year and they are striking over that sort of salary!

What sort of dickhead would 'panic buy' before they'd even voted whether to strike?
One of my two local garages ran out of fuel yesterday and the other one had a full forecourt and Some C*** in front of me waiting to turn into it from the wrong side of the road. I gave him two minutes then told him to move or i was shunting the back off his car. Some f**ker even turned up with a wheelie bin.

I remember when there was petrol strikes about 10 years ago and one of my neighbours queued up to fill his car and a petrol can. He was about 80 and didn't drive any further than the town centre that was just over a mile away. My brother was getting married at the time too on the other side of the country. It was a fuckin nightmare trying to get everyone there.

Idiots the lot of them even if a strike is announced a weeks notice has to be given. If a strike doesn't happen this has probably done wonders for the economy though! Lol
As for people mentioning the drivers wages, they're striking over safety issues not money I thought. Thing that gets my goat though is that no1 has said what the specific issues are.
