I'm not criticizing Groves and hope he does the business but i also hope he has a voluntary defence against Kenny as a respectful thing for pulling out the fight after making Kenny train hard.

I'm not the biggest fan of Groves but do you really think any Boxer would have made a different decision? If the shoes were on the other foot Kenny would 100% be fighting Steiglitz

Nobody can blame GG at all for taking the fight, but in the eyes of the division / American TV etc - that Title is irrelevant and so is the mediocre opponent Stieglitz.
I hope the reason is for a payday.

I for one am pleased for Groves and hope he does the business...
Any Pro boxer with sense would have made the same call in pulling out of the Anderson fight. It's Groves job his career when you dream about being something i.e a world champion boxer and someone offers you a very winnable shot to become one you snatch there hands off. I'm not saying i don't feel sorry for the fans who were cancelled on at short notice and Anderson who got a ruff deal but if he's as good as some people on here think he is which i don't agree with then he can actually 'earn' his rematch down the line anyway. If we're brutally honest this rematch was a gift for Anderson not many people get rematch's for being taken out in 6 rounds.
Good luck Groves you have my support.
Agreed, not to mention nobody has heard anything of him since groves with his standard of opposition.

It's still a World title in his eyes. I know it's mocked as the ****** Boxing Organisation but it's something he will have wanted since turning pro. It's not the WBA, IBF, WBC BUT it's a World Title and he will be able to call himself a World Champion just like Hatton did when he won the IBO, it'll meam more than just a payday I'm sure

Mentioned on Ringside Groves would vacate and Smigga - Anderson would fight for the vacant belt

Hopefully he'll fight the best in his division but will probably come up short against the only two world class people in the division. Maybe three in Bute.
3 including Bute? So who aren't you counting as world class out of Ward, Froch and Kessler? That's a war right there, hope it happens local.
Anderson will beat him senseless.

I said i wasn't criticizing him and i don't blame him if a title shot comes up a fighter has to take it. Anderson would beat Smigga maybe not as early as GG but he will beat him.

At the end of the day, Groves isn't the first and won't be the last boxer to pull out of a fight with an "injury" because of ulterior reasons. That's boxing and it's a selfish sport. Good luck to Groves but the string of ****** fighters getting WBO shots became stale long ago.

Fair play to Groves. Brave decision.
I think that De Gales last performance told us all that they are nowhere near top level though. If Stieglitz is in anyway decent he should take care of Groves.

Vegas is pants lad, Erfurt is where the party will be at! Me and Jaimie are booked up now, few beers in germany watch Groves do the job and then dampen my day by seeing poor Miguel take a beating sadly.

Froch isnt elite level, proven by the fact he has been beaten the two times he has really stepped up. I like Froch though I'm a big fan and the guy will fight anyone, anywhere, anytime but he just lacks that extra 5% talent which the top guys possess. If Groves can topple Steiglitz for the belt that one of the greatest smw's the world has seen had for 10 years it will be a great sense of accomplishment im sure. He can go to his mates and say "i've just won the belt that Joe Calzaghe had". What an honour. I don't think it would be too early to take another stepping stone up to the elite by taking on the likes of Froch or Dirrell if he were able to beat Steiglitz. He needs to stay well clear of the elite of the division though.
