Hello! This thread is inspired by Deck's movie one. I remember someone a couple of years ago (I think Aaron) made a similar thread to this.
I'm a huge reader of books, primarily history books; Zulu Wars and American Civil War mainly.
Huge Tolkien Fan (currently reading the Hobbit for the x time)
Started getting into Lee Child's series about Jack Reacher - Reading 'Killing Floor' and really enjoying it.
So what books do you enjoy reading and maybe suggest to other readers?

I'm stuck on book 4 of Song of Ice and Fire, A Feast for Crows, the books 'A Game of Thrones' was based on for anyone that didn't know
Can't get past a certain chapter as I have lost interest but really want to get on to 'A Dance with Dragons' so I need to persevere
Also want to read 'The Feather men' as I've just watched a film about it and still have 'The girl who kicked the Hornets Nest' to read, the other two were boss
I've got tons on my iPad to read still and will get through them all eventually
A couple of none fiction books that were good:
'Monster' Kody Scott
'The Damage Done' ****** Fellows
'Ice Man'

Both of these are excellent. Phillip Carlo who wrote the Ice Man also has a good book on The Nightstalker - Richard Ramirez. |

I haven't had much chance to read over the last few months but I was reading Dennis Lehane's series of books. They are very good.
I have read all of Michael Connelly's books over the last two or three years and would recommend them to anyone.
I bought a Kindle last year and I love it.

Yes mate, Killer Elite, good film that piqued my interest more as it was based on a true story although I've read Fiennes calls his book 'factional' so nobody is really sure which parts are true Both of these are excellent.

Will look for Nightstalker thanks, you should check out 'Monster' mate, some of the stuff he was involved in from an early age (11) was insane Thought Gypsy Boy and King of the Gypsies were also good for different reasons and both really get to the heart of the travelling community |

if you like dennis lehanes stuff then i would recommend reading george pelecanos. the nick stefanos and derek strange series's are particularly ace. the charlie parker novels by john connolly are a great series of books, detective stories with an often terrifying supernatural twist, start with every dead thing and read on from there |

Monster is a top book. Really good read.
Catcher in the Rye is an old favourite. American Psycho, Dice Man are all worth reading.
I prefer autobiographies or political books - Alistair Campbell's diaries were a good read, Mandleson's book was unintentionally hilarious. Heavy going but I recently read the Koran and Mein Kampf - not sure which is the most mental. God Delusion by Richard Dawkins worth a read as well.

I have always been a big reader but the last year or so I find myself always reading a book, went through 40 last year alone!
I really want to give Michael Connelly's books a go soon!

I've been thinking about buying the whole set and reading them. Massive Game of Thrones fan so thought it was only fair I should read the books as well. Would you recommend them so far? |

1-3 = Really good 4 = meh and slow 5 = meant to be much better so want to get to it! |
