Did anyone else want to curl up and die of embarrassment when he was talking last night after Fury had just dispatched a 40 year old prizefighter?

I think Mick is a nice guy, but he talks such utter and unadulterated sh*t its cringeworthy. Al Bernstein stood smiling politely but must surely have been thinking WTF is this guy on.

We all know promoters often talk b*ll*cks, but it has to be within the realm of reality. But the stuff Hennessey comes out with....well someone should surely gag him for his own sakes.

Yes, he is clearly deluded. His "that was like a heavyweight Hagler-Hearns" will never be beaten though.

I didn't like the talk of " manoeuvring Tyson " to a world title.

He knows dam well Tyson is all he has left and knows he would lose against a good solid heavyweight. No way will he risk the big payday against a Klit so I guess a load more bums to come.

Lol...well yeah i did think that quote could never be beaten, but the more i hear off Mick the more concerned i'm getting. It'd be a helluva task to beat that one, but i really fear that Mick is upto the job and will at some point in the future surpass it!!  Wink

Fury will never see a really 'live' opponent if Mick has anything to do with it. Hennessey will keep him facing lower level fighters for as long as channel 5 are willing to pay for it.

'Rematch with Rogie'......i can see the heading now!

It puzzled me when he said Fury would destroy Povetkin but didn't want to make the fight cos he'd have to fight him in Germany (heaven forbid what with him being champ). That would suggest he would be worried about judges whereas 'destroy' would suggest rolling over somebody quickly.

Yeah talked about how Fury beating Povetkin would be a formality, but then next sentence he doesn't want to be in a position of travelling to Germany for the fight. Clearly a contradiction.

Just lucky that under Mick's guidance Tyson's gonna be such a star that Povetkin and the Klitschko's are just going to be begging to come fight him in Britain...lol

Maybe Mick talks sense behind the scenes, but he's downright dangerous with a microphone in front of his face!

I see him being spoon fed bums every few months until they can tempt Helenius over, Which Fury would win imo, Then a string of defences/bums until Povetkin or an ageing Klitschko World title fight is there... They clearly want nothing to do with Price.

I thought everybody connected to channel 5 last night was smoking crack with the things that were being said. Bernstein was just as bad as Hennessey I had to wipe my eyes to see which Tyson they were drooling about was it Iron Mike or Gypsy Luke in the ring. He is a million miles away from anybody near the top he as got in shape and in patches boxed well but realistically he is slow on his feet and isn't busy enough and anybody who can move will catch him easily.

I dunno bout him beating Helenius mate......that guy can punch and is a big b*stard. He'd reach Fury and with Fury's ropey defense think its likely we'd see him laid out.

That's not a fight i'd be looking at if i was guiding Fury. But in all honesty i don't rate Fury atall. I think he struck gold when he faced a Chisora who clearly hadn't trained, but apart from that i've seen nothing special about Fury atall.

He's got the size, but i think his defense and concentration are crap. I don't think he hits all that hard, and we've see him shook up a few times against less than stellar comp so i think his chin is a little suspect too. He's got a big heart an a big mouth, and his fights are entertaining enough, but i fully expect him to get levelled when/if they ever try to step him up.

I'd give him a half decent chance at beating Povetkin, but that's only because Povetkin is bloody rubbish too.

Maybe i'm being harsh, but by and large i'm just sick of heavyweight boxing. The overall standard is awful.

No talk of David Price by fat Hennessey, Price would pick Tyson apart. Name any 17st 6,8 bloke on the planet that cant punch? Exactly Im sure they all pack a punch never mind one whos a pro Boxer and had a 3 month training camp. Fury has no defence what so ever and been over on his arse numerous times, I know the Heaveyweight devision is poor currently but get him In with a half decent yank he wont go 5 Rds.

Surely his line about Eubank Jnr being the best middle weight in Britain before he had his first pro fight ranks up there?

Mick said last night "Show me another heavyweight on the planet who could do what Tyson did tonight".

Sam Sexton did better twice.
