Have to be honest I am still to feel any excitement or buzz about it, just wondered if anyone else was looking forward to it?

A lot of the people I speak to are of a similar mind to me that the sooner it comes and passes the better, it is not going to do much for anywhere other than down south where everything is taking place so living in the north will be something of a none event.

All this shit like building special traffic lanes for VIP's has really put me off also, seems like the rich man's Olympics now days.

Sorry if I sound Mr doom and gloom, it honestly does nothing for me. I also fear the chances of terrorists doing something.

same, i feel no excitement what so ever.

i too also think the chance of a terrorist strike is high, a high profile attack at the games would pretty much cripple any chance of us hosting anything for the forseeable future.

I don't like the Olympics, it was meant to represent amateur sport for starters wasn't it, yeah right. The ticket prices are also a disgrace, it is elitist again where it should be an opportunity for everyone to view the event, prices should be drilled down so everyone can afford it, don't even get me started on the merchandise, you can only use Visa in the Olympics shop as they are the sponsor, any other card will not work (cash is allowed) other sponsors include maccy d's, coke etc, a chip fork for your wallet (who would buy that) with the Olympic logo is 10 quid, the official football with that stupid logo is 85 quid, the Capitol becomes a virtual no go area for a month for any other reason, hotel and food prices sky high while people are trying to make a fast buck, the Unions threatening to bring the transport systems to a halt for militant means and finally the ever present threat of a terrorist attack, I could go on but I might sound obsessive......I this I will swerve it myself

My huge enthusiasm for it completely disappeared when I was allocated ZERO tickets for it, despite applying for loads. Shame as I was really hoping to take my kids as a once in a lifetime experience. But same as many things in this country, they completely F***ed up the ticket process. I just hope we do not end up a laughing stock and that it is a great event.

It's fooked our economy up.

The company I work for has noticed a massive trend of all the decent sized construction business has all centred around London.

New schools, hospitals etc projects north of Watford have completely dried up. It's sucking up billions - and the rest of the country goes to rat shit.

With regards the event, the programme "The 9/11 tapes" that aired last week showed how terrorists can have a field day with ths sort of event.

If terrorists don't strike this, I will be genuinely shocked.

The Olympic games are situated in London and I believe ALL the tickets should have gone to people who pay there council tax in and around that city. The sharp increase of there council tax ever since they won the games as increased to pay for it so why let people in Wigan, Newcastle etc bid for tickets.
I ain't fussed with it at all all the politicians and celebrities will get tickets for all the main events and it will show the world just how elitism this country is and how bad we can let people live in deprived areas a stones throw from where the Olympic village will be.
Its all pomp and ceremony and all the millions brought in by tourism will be for the sole benefit for the vast hotel chains and government run transport services. The ordinary man in the street as paid for it but will never get a ticket for a event just sums it all up. Once we roll out the Queen, Cameron and Johnson at the opening ceremony the world will see nothing but wealth and privilege against a backdrop of despair and destitution from the people watching on the top of there high rise balcony 25 floors up.

The first thing the Condems did in power was axe the school rebuiding programme as it was to cost £3.5 billion over the next 13 years. The next thing they did was increase foreign aid to £12 billion a year to countries like Brazil, China, India, Pakistan and South Africa who's economies have far higher growth and prosperity than ours. Its ok for school children in the UK to sit in damp, squalid old victorian buildings and expect them to have a decent education but the bigger priority for the Condems is to give away our money for space programmes, religous schools in islamic hell holes and back handers to mineral wealth countries.
As for the security threat I don't expect a spectacular event centred on the Olympic Games and its venues. There will be over 12k officers on duty daily from the MET and 11 other forces and no doubt the Intelligence people at MI5 will know if there are any terror cells planning, preparing and pose a imminent threat to national security. I do think that another summer of disconsent will happen as while the privleged few enjoy the spirit and entertainment of the Games a certain element of society will see it as a ideal opportunity to steal the spotlight whilst the eyes of the world are watching

It's an absolutely massive expense for a few weeks of, let's be honest, outdated and dull sporting events.

I'd watch the boxing, perhaps the 100m sprint and that's your lot.

There is no way on earth, these multi-million pound veledromes can recoup their costs with just a few days of amateur events. It's simply not possible !

Nor will they will be of any benefit to anyone in London - except maybe some Billionaire-owned football club.
