Against a journeyman piggy backing on Frochs back. Is that meant to be a defense of Brooks career non progress.

It wasnt anywhere near a career forwarding fight.

The fact is that all thats come from Brooks camp is alot of talk and very little action. To become big he needs some big fights, which he will only get in the US. He has some rubbish american coming over now in the summer that he will no doubt beat.

Then what? Call out Mosely and try get him to come to his back garden, or maybe the loser of the Berto v Ortiz fight? He needs to get up off his arse, fight more often and aim a bit higher.

I was well up on Kell for the last 5 years, but the years are ticking by. He is in his prime, and his claim to fame is a shut out against Matt Hatton.

Not good enough.

He is our version of Canelo Alvarez Grin

The thing for me is like almost any fight outside of a Floyd, Manny or Cotto fight Alexander vs Pauli would sell about 5k tickets at a real push in the States, they bring any of those guys over her to fight Kell and your going to double that with little effort.

Its not the crowds that pay the bills, its license fee's. Berto sells a tenth of the tickets kell does and gets paid probably over ten times what Kell does. It doesnt matter a jot. About 8000 tickets at an average of 40 pounds is just over 300k. Its not going to attract any big names over. Lets face it, Sky dont pay alot for these cards either. Whereas all of HBO's sports budget goes on boxing.

Brook will have to go to the States.

I hope Kell gets this fight I really do.

It would give the UK another chance. However I know Paulie wont allow himself to be rail-roaded into anything he does not want to do.

He was very angry and forthright when he was served up to Khan and Diaz.

The money would have to be really really tempting for him to take that fight in Sheffield.

My thoughts exactly, Kell deserves the fight but I can't help but think it is a ways a way yet. Malignaggi like him or not has a name in boxing, arguably more than Brook has, so for Brook to get this fight in Sheffield is a near impossibility.

Paulie's stopped 2 out of his 4 opponents at welterweight. Senchenko (I know he'll get slated!!!) was nothing if not a big, tough, strong Eastern European and Paulie made his face look like a bologna sandwich.

My comparison had nothing to do with that. I believe in Brooks ability, hence my annoyance. He is looking for a handy world title or scalp, anyone that denies that is being siilly. Either that is lazy management or a lack of belief in my opinion.

Don't think that's a totally fair comment. Have to be realistic, Kell's not going to land a Mayweather or Pacquaio fight anytime soon. He's not at that level upto yet.So he's only left with looking for handy titles or scalps as he seeks to build his profile. Thats just the way it is and a Malignaggi fight for the WBA makes sense if he could get it.

I'll be critical of Brook and Hearn if i don't see progress in the next couple of fights, but so far i like what i've seen Hearn do with Kell. He's cleaned up domestically and now its onto the next stage.

The only good thing for Brook is that Malinaggi couldnt even sell out a 2000 seater venue in Brooklyn, so if the moneys right he will travel!

I've lost patience with his progression. The slowness of his accent lately and the careful nature of his opposition selection is making me suspicious about his real ability levels. They certainly arent taking a risk. the Mallignaggi fight is a good step. He looks better at Welter. However I would love to see Brook travel and beat him there. Showtime or HBO would pick this up and it could serve as a good undercard fight. I'd rather see that than see some stupid twitter call outs by Kell and Hearn, followed by Paulie not wanting the fight in England and then Brook fighting another poor quality opponent in November after dispatching of another one in the Summer. They need to strike when the iron is hot. He looks prime, the crowds are there, the interest is there. It wont last long.

I understand your point, but think Hearn's doing a fairly good job.

I agree strides need to be taken now while Brook has some momentum on his side, and if necessary he should be prepared to travel for an opportunity.

We'll see what his next couple fights are. If they're nondescript i'll share your frustration but i expect something genuine within 2 fights for Brook.

Please God tell me this isn't true!  Not Malignaggi, just about the most annoying prick ever to be put on earth?  I assume the retard didn't have to have some black man dreadlock extensions cut from his hair midway through this fight?  TKO?  Malignaggi could not knock out a half decent wank!   Angry

LMAO Bonters you crack me up!

Malignaggi knew had to knock him out in his own backyard, but the Ukraine will never live this down!

I think Pauli ought to be searched for loaded wraps looking at Senchenko's face !

I think people are unfair to Paulie. It seems any fighter that needs a name to beat on the way up and people want to serve Paulie to them. He's the champ he went aboard to win the belt if someone wants it go to his back yard and take it. I wouldn't be so confident if I were GBP that Alexander would beat Paulie. Either way Paulie has got himself back in the mix. Well done to him.

Agreed, Malignaggi may have a mouth on him but he's a good guy at heart and always admits defeat when it happens. He's just a very confident guy and he deserved the title.

I'll second that.
