I don't want to take anything from cotto who fought his arse off last night, but I feel Floyd could of won the fight so much easier than he did last night and so deserves credit for what he did.

He always says how nothing is cool about taking punishment but he seemed to enjoy having more of a brawl last night, only for the later rounds did he start pot shotting more.

It was a good fight, but I just felt Floyd seemingly encourage any of the trouble Miguel brought, one thing those commentators did get right is that everytime Floyd held centre ring was when the real gulf in class shown.

I still think Floyd beats and possibly stops Manny, its wide on the cards either way.

Floyd is too big and strong for Manny. Manny would have moments and bloody and hurt Floyd, but Floyd would do enough. After watching Floyd last night, I'd give Manny more of a chance than before if he fought the right fight. But hard to see him managing to take it over 12 and hasnt the power to knock out Floyd with single shots.

Bang on the money and Gibbo too, Floyd wanted to fight like that, it was his choice, he fought the same way with Ortiz and made it a bit more of fun for those watching, I appreciate his style regardless and can't believe he is getting ANY criticism

He stepped up in weight (no catchweights) giving 3lb's away at the weigh in and F*ck knows what on fight night and pretty much dominated an elite level fighter

We are seeing one of the best ever and anyone who thinks he is ducking Manny is a bit mental, it would go exactly the same as last night in my opinion

I also thought Merchant was bang out if order giving Floyd no credit again and going on about his bloody nose, WTF! As Mr. Hatton used to say, "It ain't a tickling contest"

Agreed sevens.

Merchant is too old and boring for post fight, I was happy at the thought of him not doing Floyd's interview. His questions last longer than the answers, he ain't upto the job let him go and retire ffs.

The thing that annoys me about Merchant is the 4 second pause after every word in his interviews.

I agree. Floyd gave away a lot weight last night and still looked immensely strong against an 11st monster in miguel cotto.

The only way Manny wins that fight, imo, is if he can build on the de la hoya strategy, use pace and just throw and throw and throw to smother floyd for the majority of the twelve rounds.

I don't think floyd would back up against manny like he did against cotto. Manny is very quick and he wouldn't be able to time and anticipate his offence like he can against his previous opponents. Floyd would have to fight him in ring centre with the jab, distance and lots of angles. If he did that I think, while it wouldn't be the most exciting fight of all time; it would be very difficult for manny to get a foothold.

I thought it was brilliant when they said in the studio 'merchant seems to get paid by the word' and then he said

'mayweather may be going to prison but at least he won't be interviewed by merchant' and buncey said 'maybe he should, it would help pass the time'

Lurky - the commentator is HBO, he does international coverage for non-US customers.

Well they gotta get shut of him.....i know he's been around for years and i've tried repeatedly to tolerate him, but he's a terrible commentator. I'd rather have no conmmentary that listen to his crap.

Al Bernstein is far and away the best commentator. Its a shame we couldn't just nick him for all our broadcasts.

Made me laugh too, enjoyed Smigga, Crolla and Buncey last night

Bunce must have had plenty of caffeine, he was involved with the FA cup too!

Floyd apparently came to the ring weighing 147. And confirmed he had a hand injury

Yeah maybe so, but I see that fight as alot more even then what most think it will be. Pac is instantly dismissed by many as having next to no chance against Floyd when in reality, it's never really been so clear cut in my view. Floyd had a big advantage with weight, height and reach on Marquez. Floyds speed and reach was too much for Marquez to handle. He was bloated and looked flat. Pac took the fight to Juan and was countered beautifully with combinations. It was all down to styles.

Cotto hasn't exacly set the world on fire @154 and most, if not nearly everyone thought he was slowly on the decline. He was far from washed up and was more on the slide imo. It was said that he wasn't fast enough to catch Floyd and was to mechanical to cause Floyd any problems yet he found a way to break through his defence.

Pacman is as fast as Floyd and can fire combinations off like a machine gun, he darts in and out, can shoot from range and has the style, angles and power to give Mayweather fits. The biggest factor is his stamina, he can go at a frantic pace for 12 whole rounds, something Cotto wasn't able to do.

I'm not saying he would beat Floyd, just that after seeing someone like Cotto getting through with a pretty basic style, I have no doubt someone like Manny 'could' beat him and that fight is alot closer on paper then some think, or want to believe.

Floyd isn't gonna sit on the ropes against Manny Where he can take that luxury against other fighters Manny is too fast and would land eventually.

The cotto that fought last night at 154lb would have destroyed the likes of manny and marquez at that weight. I was very impressed with cotto's performance. Great fight and credit to mayweather for standing and trading like he did.
