Its true....he's tested positive for Nandrolone.

They're claiming trace contamination from supplements he apparently took without Conte's knowledge....or so Conte is claiming on twitter.

Thought after Peterson tested positive that the surface had only just been scratched, and so it seems. It sickens me to think how many of them have been cheating. Can only guess at the depths of this. It could become an epidemic. No question there are a lot of worried fighters out there busy trying to purge their systems. We may see quite a few follow with positive tests, we may also see some performances drop off significantly as the cheats are forced to come off the PEDS.

Wasn't it Bertos trainer who gave the the pretty good interview about Peterson and drugs in boxing the other day?

Was he double bluffing or did he not know maybe? How much does a trainer know about 'that side' of the fighters prep?

Berto was sure that Ortiz was juiced in their first fight so obviously wanted to even up the rematch.

Just goes to show...

This is initially a bad blow for boxing
but a good thing in the long run as it
will revolutionize the way testing is carried
out. How victor conte is allowed to be part
of any professional sports athlete is mind blowing
considering his past and now present.

Amen... And I'm not exactly a Mayweather fan boy, but the guy really hits the nail on the head demanding these tests!

mayweather is not only the best and beats any fighter from 140-154 but he also does it clean and campaigns for full drug testing.

Haters say what u like about his personaility, but his skill and natural athletiscm are unrivalled in this era of boxing.

I'm massively disappointed in Berto. I always thought he was a good guy.

And Conte's offering that it's likely a trace contamination is a load of bollocks. You don't accidentally pick up Nandrolone from Corn Flakes or a protein shake do you.  Roll Eyes

Although as has been said already a couple of high profile fighters getting caught out with the extra testing will move forward the case for more modern and rigorous random drugs testing. Whether the sanctioning and governing bodies will have the balls to put those measures in place officially is very much doubtful, as I think they know drugs are rife in the sport and they are truly afraid of what will be found, and the fallout and loss of revenue as a result.

And to think people gave Mayweather massive flack for demanding random testing

Just goes to show...

Nobody gave flack for demanding random testing in the sport in general.  It should be mandatory at all levels of the sport where testing is affordable.

People give Mayweather flack for baseless accusations that Manny Pacquiao is on PEDs.  "How can a guy who fought at 106 being walking through Welterweights?  Jus' sayin'.  How can his head grow so big?  Jus' sayin'.  Filipino soldiers given drugs that let them walk through bullets.  Jus' sayin'.  Guy comes out of nowhere, where was he '96, '97', 98'?  Jus' sayin'.  Where's all this power come from, how can he all of a sudden hit so hard?  Jus' sayin'." etc that shite is what he deserves flack for.

Random testing?  Get it in the sport now!  Perhaps I didn't agree with Floyd imposing it purely for Pacquiao (where was Floyd's principle on random testing before 2010?) but credit where credit is due - it got the ball rolling.

Berto was sure that Ortiz was juiced in their first fight so obviously wanted to even up the rematch.

More like Berto was likely juiced in their first fight, hence so quick to accuse Ortiz.  "[I'm juicing and he beat me, so] he MUST be on PEDs!"

Ortiz has been in with 2 boxers caught cheating and come out with a draw and a win.  Not bad kiddo.
