He's untested too.

More fights than Price, marginally better opposition, less impressive performances is my take.

Sounds like a good fight to be made then?

The thing with Price is he could soon find himself with no opponents, I doubt many promoters will be wanting to stick their hottest prospects in with him even if they are of a similar level in experience.

Price is as good a hw that we have produced since Lewis. Although sexton was poor, he was made to look that way by a very skilled performance. Price's defence was of the highest order and he didnt look
Like being clipped at all. People talk about his chin, but if you have to go through a 6 ft 8 wall of punching power to test it, coupled with a top draw defence, then his chin will be fairly unscathed during his career. Really excited to see how far he can go.
Also top class sportsmanship at the end, more concerned with sextons health than celebrating. Stark contrast to Kessler who looked like he would have pissed on greene's corpse given the chance.

Best heavyweight in the world right now I've seen no one else come close.

Better than the Klitschkos?  Or have you not seen then yet...

I remember hearing the same rubbish when Haye was riding the wave of British public opinion.

Massive difference between this lad and Haye though mate. For a kick off there's about 7 inches different, which makes Price a genuine HW. Whilst Haye was indeed the best CW in the world I think many people (me included) initialy thought he would carry that power up to HW and shake every one up. Unfortunately we saw what happened.
Price is certainly not the best HW in the world, and is a distance from it at the minute. However what he does have is the potential to go a long way with the current crop of HW fighters, and he is also the closest I have seen to Wlad with his technique.

jim thats what sums it up for me.. he has all the potentials.. ignore the chinniness theory because as stated earlier he can avoid all of that by good defence and not allowing people near him.

what i like is the punch combinations he puts together along with the variation from head to body. you dont see that these days along with good fitness and condition he tick alot of boxes, except holding the valuable experience which will come.

to top it off hes a good role model out of the ring for kids to look up to, not like the two in munich  Wink

He's the best prospect on either side of the Atlantic to emerge in years, he has the size and skills to compete with either brother, although I think Vitali will be retired in 18 months. Price v Wlad would be a decent fight, but hes right he needs time and big fight experience!

Spot on.  Although Wlad is 36 now so unless they really look to rush Price, which I don't think Maloney will, he could have retired by the time he's ready to challenge for the belts.  I would like to see him be able to have a crack at Wlad for 3 of the 4 recognised belts though.  Once both the brothers are retired and the belts fragment I think it will become very difficult to unify them again, especially if the Yanks can get their hands on one of them for someone from the States.

Agree with the above 3 posts completely.
He's not great yet, but he may be one day. The vast majority of fighters you see you know they never will be.

Price will undoubtedly be on Wlad's radar already. He wants to test himself against the best and Price will be a real threat by the time that fight can be made. There won't be any retirement from the youngest Klitschko beforehand I am sure. And David would do well to avoid the charm offensive in the build up. They are both gentlemen outside the ring but just as Froch found out with Kessler, that friendliness worked against him when it was fight time. Klitschko v Price could be massive. And unlike Haye, big Dave would have the entire country behind him.

Price is undoubtedly the man to be talking about now at HW.  Most definitely he's not yet the finished article, but if he went in against either Klitschko tomorrow, I'm not sure where my money would be?  He's levels above the likes of Haye (not a HW and never will be), Chisora, Fury et al.  And here's the real irony  -  the best sportsman at the weight, the most honest and all round decent fella, happens to be a scouser.  Good on him I say.  I look forward to his continuing campaign.

I'd expect Price to challenging for World honours within the next 18 months if i'm honest. Want to see him forced to work for 12 rounds to see what his stamina is like.

Step him up in Class now, time to look at Helenius, Boytsov, Arreola or maybe Povetkin even. Of those i'd say Arreola is the biggest test. Think Price has the beating of the lot at present though.

Needs to show Fury up with some talented opposition....

Would like to see him looking to take on Helenius in his next fight. Then we might start to form an idea where he stands at european level.

True. Reasonable step up. Nice little tear up or a chess match dominated by Price. My money's on Price either way. Helenius can bang but is nothing special.
