Storm in a teacup, exacerbated by too many people, with too great an opinion of their own worth, having too much time on their hands to advertise their opinions in public on an issue that is not of their concern. Roll Eyes

Very much a self referencing post.

I know the status of the BBBoC.  But the point is the undercard fighters will be licensed by the BBBoC in some cases and have to abide by the decisions of that body.  No British fighter has to fight under a British licence, they can base themselves anywhere in the world they choose and the Board wouldn't object.  But by fighting under a British licence they are some of the most well protected fighters in the business.

Anyone fighters wanting to stand behind Frank against the will of the BBBoC are off their heads given that DeGale and Bellew both want away.

It's a peril of becoming a 'professional' that you have to abide by the will of your governing body whether you agree with the decisions it takes or not.

The conduct of the board is now in question by threatening other fighters to make there punishment stand. They've created this mess by dealing with the matter incorrectly there now in a corner and don't want to be seen to back down.

I'd have more sympathy with this stance if Chisora and ****** had gone through the due process of having their appeal heard, but they elected to go ahead with this before hand.  I didn't agree with the initial decision, but that's the whole point of having an appeals process.

But that again is the boards own fault. You simply can't have a governing body sending out thinly veiled threats against its members. The board have caused this and Fwank is bound to be loving it there doing a better job of promoting this event than he could they've simply added fuel to the fire.

Just because the Board's initial decision was widely perceived to be wrong, it shouldn't mean that its members should set up a contrived set of circumstances before the formal processes have been completed.

I think Frank's starting to get used to other people doing a better job of promoting an event than he could have  Grin

I personally think that the Board need a wake-up call for some of their decisions and actions.  I just think it's unfortunate that (a) This particular fight is being used as the vehicle for it, and (b) That it's Fwank who's decided to take them on.  FW is about the most unpopular in the business at the minute and there are numerous signs that his finances are teetering precariously on the edge of collapse.  He is also being eclipsed by promoters like Hearn, with far more honesty and integrity.  I've spoken up for Fwank in the past, and I still think British boxing has benefited from his involvement, but I begin to think his days are numbered.  And this dispute is not gonna help him any imo
