Look man I am simply saying that Bute is an excellent boxer, you cant take that away from him. Calzaghe feasted and I cant emphasise FEASTED enough on 2nd class opposition for his whole career apart from a few names. Calzaghe was a class boxer there is no doubt, but he was not tested enough through his career, Calzaghe did not fight elite opponent after elite opponent. I understand what you are saying about Bute, but he is no mug and has knocked out a few decent names. I am not for one saying that Andrade, Magee, Zuniga or Miranda are all the highest elite level but apart from the first Andrade fight he has dealt with them all very comfortably. Andrade was mentioned once as having one of the best chins in boxing but Bute flattened him in the second fight, and Zuniga is a guy that went the distance with the IBF light heavyweight champ Tavoris Cloud, Bute did him in 4. Besides this there is no real point in arguing with a Calzaghe fan cos it could last forever.

That Golovkin video is a crazy way to argue. For one Bute although near enough out actually made it to his feet, and secondly Golovkin is one of the biggest bangers in the game.

Can't see Carl out boxing Joe in a million years, and Joe's chin is just as good as Froch.
Calzaghe 117 - 111

Tough to tell.
JC was obviously very good but wasted his prime on nobodies. He never fought a tough, powerful fighter with a bit of boxing skill like Froch. He took a powerful fighter to school in Lacey, he dealt with a top fighter in Kessler, and had the activity to beat Hopkins (I watched that back recently, terrible scoring TBH, BHop school JC and the compubox numbers were way off as JC was missing or hitting glove with the vast majority of his flurries, whilst BHop was nailing him for the first 2/3s of the fight).
He never fought somebody who would throw as he threw. Somebody who would walk through those flurries and dig to the body and head. JC was many things, but one of them was not impossible to hit.
On quality of opposition alone, you have to give the nod to Froch. That's a simplistic argument, but not without merits in the wake of the Bute fight.

You just described Kessler (Who is proven to be better than Froch)

best calzaghe v best froch is a tough call. It would be fight of the year theres no doubt about that. Both granite chins and both full on action fighters.
Lots said bute was gonna smash froch, with his UNBEATEN record and HOME TOWN wins. Calzaghe was the same as bute for 90% of his career. Calzaghe beat kessler and hopkins tho so he was obviously a very good fighter.
Its hard to say but styles make fights and i think it would either be froch by KO or calzaghe by points. We will never know but I would tip froch fresh off last nights showing. Calzaghe wouldnt have the power to keep froch off him if they went to war so his best option would be to jab and box and move. probably try the spoiling raiding tactics used by ward.
If we talk about who had the better career. Froch all the way. Frochs record is f***ing elite as they come. The guy is straight out of the 1970's with a record like that. Its monstrous. Frochs record is a who's who of the supermiddleweight division from the past 5 years.
So in conclusion. Froch-calzaghe i used to say calzaghe all the way but id have to say its 50/50 and would come down to how the styles gelled on the night. That vaunted calzaghe undeafted record vs Frochs rocky-esk never lie down attitude. It would be some fight lets just agree on that. No need to decend into a slanging match bringing down each fighters achievments.

Not quite. Kessler isn't the type to walk through punches and trade. He was forced to trade by Froch, but vs JC he was trying to limit the punches landed and box with Joe, and got overwhelmed.

I think it would be a hard fight for either, Joes speed would worry carl as Carl's power would worry Joe.

He beat an un-tested phonie. Gennady Golovkin Knocked Bute the F*ck out in the Am's. Bute is what you call an overated fighter.
How was Bute overrated? A lot of people kept slagging off his record and were questioning his chin. I actually think he was underrated. Bika, Andrade, Miranda and Johnson are not names to sniff at. People just got spoiled by what the Super Six delivered.

Froch is a good pressure boxer and was superb on Saturday but Joe would be too quick and clever for Froch, he'd outbox him all night long and win be a very wide points margin
