Bradley blasts 'liar' Arum for Pacquiao comments
 spam
 June 20, 2012

WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley has called Bob Arum, his promoter, a liar for comments made in the wake of the controversial Manny Pacquiao clash.

Arum claimed that before the judges awarded the contest to Bradley, the fighter told him: "I tried hard but I couldn't beat the guy." But Bradley, who does not expect to agree a rematch with Pacquiao later this year, denies saying anything of the sort.

"I never told Bob that at all. He's a liar and I will tell him that to his face," Bradley said to the Desert Sun. "I told Bob I did the best I can. I got injured. That was it. That's all I said to Bob. I didn't say, 'Bob, I couldn't beat that guy.' I would never say that, because I thought I won the fight.

"Bob's going to say that because that's [Pacquiao] his cash cow. The fact he lost to me, that's hard on him. That's hard on everyone."

However, Bradley is refusing to rule out the possibility of working with Arum, who runs Top Rank Promotions, in future. Bradley's decision to link up with Top Rank helped him secure a lucrative meeting with Pacquiao.

"I have nothing but love for Top Rank. I have nothing but love for the people," Bradley said. "This is a business and some things are said and taken out of context. It is what it is. When I see him, we'll settle this. I'm a big man, I'll talk to him."

The WBO is holding a video review into Pacquiao v Bradley after the judges' verdict was near-universally condemned by fans and critics. The organisation has the power to order a rematch, but cannot strip Bradley of his 147lbs title.

"I will have to watch the video to see if I won."

That is not the statement of a guy who thinks he won.  Bradley, you are the liar, and when you're being labelled a liar over Bob Arum, you really should be worried!

Did manny look like he felt like he won the last fight with JMM? Him going to his corner with his head down didn't look like it to me. He should have watched that tape.

Because He wasn't sure if he won because it was CLOSE FIGHT! The bradley fight was NOT! I don't know why some people always compare the JMM fight to the Bradley fight. All I can think of is hatred.

It wasn't a hard fight to score... ALL of the headsnapping punches were landed by Marquez... he also counterpunched the hell out of manny all night.

Yet Marquez was the one with bruised eyes, a swollen face...

Not all punches are "head snapping".  Pacquiao fights straight up, Marquez is compact.  Marquez ducks into punches.  They still land, often with more power, where as Pacquiao is darting around trying to avoid shots so it looks like Marquez is smashing him about when that wasn't the case.

That was a razor close fight.  I thought Marquez had a better case for winning the 2nd than the 3rd fight TBH.  He was too inactive in the 3rd fight and really did very little in the last 4 rounds.

I agree with a lot of what you say but in fairness, bruises don't tell a whole lot of the story. Just look at Ricky Hatton's face after many of his fights.

Meh.  Hatton was famous for his face first defense.  He just laid on more hurt than he absorbed.

But besides the point; Pacqiuao marks up.  He's marked up after every battle has been in - be it Marquez I & II, vs Cotto, vs Margarito, vs Morales, Barrera, anybody who hit him hard and/or him often.  He was so clean after Marquez III.
