Reminds me on ITV's coverage of F1 how if Irvine won or had a storming race he was British, if he had an average one he was Northern Irish and If he crashed or had a crap race he was the Irishman. haha Grin

I think people not wanting him to win as he is Scottish is fair mate, its no different to Scots wanting England to lose against everyone at football. That is sporting banter as far as I'm concerned.

It don't bother me the Scots want us to lose in everything, but they can't complain when that feeling is returned.

100% correct, bit of banter indeed, and Murray is a boring, whinging, skirt wearing haggis muncher

I'd like to see Murray win it but like Henman and Rudeski before him he just crumbles under pressure. Djokovic is the best player around today I would have loved to see him and Nadal in the Final but Federer should push him close.

Murray's match tonight was just unreal, 3 sets under the roof and playing until 11:02 was crazy. Moments where he was a bit sticky and slow but absolutely phenomenal come the last set

Murray is british win or lose. Its a sport where we compete as great britain so I don't get all this he is scottish rubbish. There was no question of whether henman was british and when he competed the overwhelming toffs in the crowd were wearing a silly union jack hat holding a pims in one hand and waving a union jack in the other. Now murray is the dominant british tennis player its all tartan and scottish flags all over the place.

For the record even though he's british I don't particularly like him  Grin

Said before, Murray is the best Brit tennis player for 60 or so yrs. Miles ahead of henman etc, love him to win this yr. Queens jubilee, Olympics and Wimbledon winner. Not bothered by people calling him boring, he is a tennis player not a stand up.

The thing with Murray isn't that he's a Scot, Grumpy or just annoys the F*ck out of me. He's an under achiever. Yes he's miles better than Henman or that Canadian Rusedski, but they both probably over achiever with their ability. Murray should be winning Grand Slams or at least putting up a fight in the Finals, instead of getting his ass spanked!
He's now 25 and and there are always better players coming up through the ranks and soon he'll be in no position to win any titles.

He as made a number of major finals but lost them quite heavily. I don't think he as ever won a set in a major final so its probably more of freezing under the big occasion than him lacking talent. I remember a few years ago when he looked like he was going to break up the Federer and Nadal stranglehold on the sport and along comes Djokovic and literally becomes world number 1 within 2 years of winning title after title.

Well, the Scot started off a bit tentative and nervous today, but the Brit came through in the end!  Semi-finals now!  BUT both Federer and Djokvic are looking pretty awesome, and levels above the remaining opposition.  I wouldn't bet against Federer this year, but I think Novak shades him
