What do  you think  of the September 15 fight between Chavel Jr and " maravilla" Martinez..?
Who do you think has the edge between these two warriors? Undecided

Hah. I've already made my thoughts clear in the previous thread. One-sided, to put it mildly.

Well both camps are starting to play mind games... Smiley

Between the two I would like Sergio to teach this guy Chavez a lesson.... Wink

He thinks that after beating Lee he is already invincible Grin

I don't think its as 1 sided as people make out.  Chavez Jr is a pressure fighter with a great beard.  Martinez was stopped by the last pressure fighter he fought with a solid chin.

Martinez is the better boxer, moves better, and will be in fantastic condition.  I tip him to win.  However, I'd straddle that against a Chavez Jr mid-late stoppage of Martinez.

A few months ago I would have thought Martinez would have been to strong but Chavez as made a lot of improvements and I don't think its so clear cut anymore. Martinez is a great fighter but Barker did well against him and showed he had some flaws. Chavez is a good fighter and his younger legs may help him the longer the fights goes on.

I just hope that the improvement of Chavez is not the effect of doping..... Wink

His last fight with Lee was suspicious as there was never any evidence that he provided HIS OWN urine samples....

I just hope that Martinez camp will be vigilant in this area...

I'd love Martinez to knock Chavez the fck out but I don't think it'll happen unfortunately. Martinez is a small middleweight  and Chavez will probably be a light-heavy on fight night. I think Chavez wears Martinez down to a late stoppage. Rounds 10 or 11.

I also go for the bright young star to dethrone the old master one way or the other.

His chin, his body shots, and strength.  He'll maraud forward, take Martinez's best shots, and dig to the body and man handle Martinez when close.  I think it'll be a bit like Kell Brook vs Carson Jones (as will David Haye vs Dereck Chisora), which is great because it means for a lot of late drama.

Chavez is the most obvious juicer in boxing, you can be guaranteed if Martinez had insisted in random testing the fight wouldn't have been signed!
