According to the rumors going around, welterweight contender Kell Brook is considering the possibility of hiring Carl Froch’s trainer Rob McCracken. There are rumors that Brook is looking to make some changes after his recent scare against Carson Jones.
Rising prospect Kid Galahad, also trained by Brook's current coach, Dominic Ingle, has also heard these rumors. He doesn't see how a switch to McCracken will help Brook.
“Kell’s relationship with Dominic is different to mine with him. I think it’s all been one-fight deals so far. They are not as close as I am with Dom; I think with them its strictly business," Galahad told the Sheffield Star.
“My gut feeling is he will stay. The Ingles have always looked after him and got him into the position he is in now. When he left the Ingles a few years ago, he looked ordinary sometimes and then after he came back he looked a million dollars.
“I hope he thinks long and hard. Maybe last time he left it was a mistake and he wouldn’t want to make a mistake twice. McCracken looks after Carl Froch and is involved with the Great Britain squad so how would he have time to look after Kell properly?”
i cant make up my mind whether this would be a good or bad move?

Don't fix it unless it's broken.
Naseem is a perfect example.

Naseem was smashing people at Brooks level though ******, he didnt come unstuck until he truely lost himself up his own arse. I think if he has any doubts whatsoever then he should make the move. No good being in a tough fight with a man you dont fully commit to

dont see the need for him to change trainer
in the fight against Jones he was excellent for first 6 rounds and then due to stamina issues and a broken nose he struggled in second half of fight
Eddie Hearn's post fight comments suggested more that they were going to address the diet and nutrional side of things so not sure changing trainer is necessary

i think the ingles have such a specific style that whoever takes a fighter from there has alot of work to do from the ground up.

shouldnt change trainer on one below par performance, he still won.......i think Brook needs to hit harder if he wants to reach that world level though.

Brook doesn't really need to hit any harder. He's hits heavy enough. But he needs to concentrate on his boxing and not worry about trying to flatten folk. Think Carson Jones was genuinely tough f*cker and that fight going the distance is more testament to his resilience and desire, than a lack of power on Brook's part. But in all honesty there are very few boxers who have a right to go in fully expecting to level people.....The Jacksons, Benn's, McClellan's are few and far between. Even Naz who we all know was a genuine master blaster, was a much better fighter when he wasn't loading up and looking for KO's, but instead when he was just letting the punches flow and being instinctive with his bombs.

tbh i think this isnt a great move, dom and brendan are fantastic trainers and have been with kell since he was a little kid so know every little thing abut him in the gym, what makes him tick etc.. this is not to say rob mckracken isnt a good trainer because he is awesome on both tactics but also on the technique aspect, i just think that it could well be mistake.
i may be wrong.. only kell knows whats best for him.

I suppose M Hatton and Carson Jones are both tough enough so a point decision v either is a good result, still think Brook needs to get some more k.o wins under his belt though. I cant see him moving up opposition with any real threat of knocking those guys out.

based on 1 hard fight alone, I dont think that justifies a move, but on the other hand, the corner work by Dom Ingle was shite well Kell was in balls deep against Jones. Rob McCracken and even Adam Booth seem to have a knack of knowing just what to say in the corners and how to say it. I dont think a move away from the Ingles will effect Kell as much as it did Naz for example because Kell's alot more text book that your typical Ingle fighter and seems technically sound

Brook was to blame for his sub par performance, and also McCracken is busy enough with the Olympics and Froch.
I do hear that Brook is on a rolling 1-fight deal with ingles so can move if he wants, and it happened before when he joined Coldwell. He had to return though after a dispute between Coldwell and his promoter kicked off.

I think Brook is just lazy, and doesn't like to do 12 rounds, but he may adapt.

Would McCraken be happy with Brooks obvious lack of commitment ??
Im sure he would want 110 per cent from Kell but would he get it ??
