Rios - Alvarado on the undercard Grin
I'm glad we didn't get Donaire-Arce. This is much more interesting. As good a Nishioka is, he's definitely past his prime speed-wise. However, he seems to be compensating for that by boxing much more intelligently than he used to imo. Shoud be a good night of boxing.

This is a superb fight!

The talk of Donaire taking on Arce disgusted me, because it'd have been an obvious slaughter of a popular little battler just because he was well known. Thankfully that mismatch has been shelved.

But taking on Nishioka is making a big statement of intent. This is a genuine fight and both deserve credit for getting it made.

Arce was rumored to ask more money for what he is worth.... maybe as an insurance that  if he gets beaten by Donaire, at least the money is a somewhat  a fair compensation.... Grin

I can't take to him at all. He's just a bully struggling to shift the weight so he can beat up the smaller lads.

I think he deserves another chance at 140 personally. If he pulls the same antics then it’ll be hard to root for him.

Same here, happy to see this. This is the sort of fight that should bring the best out of Donaire. Of late he has neglected everything that has worked so well for him, instead looking for that one spectacular shot to finish it.

Rios was drained at the weight in his previous two fights.Problem is,his style may become less effective as he moves up and where he doesn't hold physical advantages over his opponent.Should be a fun fight though.

I'm a huge fan of Donaire and happy he's taking on this challenge.
Bottom line is Donaire is fighting the Number One Ranked guy in the Division,so a win will be very good for his good Resume.
Winner might get the Ring Belt.

Golden Boy are talking about doing Mares-Moreno on the same night. This would make for a huge night in the 122 lb division.
