The Money Team Is Gonna Rip Your Boy A New One

« on: June 15, 2009, 09:34:24 PM »

Just though id ask the question. Dont know if it makes any difference to what Red has got planned but might be interesting.

I prefer the new site. I posted on Hatton & livefight and used to look at the Cobra site.

There are pros & cons to both the options but i felt livefight was probaly better for general boxing chat as some of the posters on there were quite knowledgeable (bar Rob Wink) unlike the flyby casuals on the Hatton site. That being said you could have a good laugh on the hatton site about allsorts of crap and it mad me laugh quite regular.

The reason i prefer this one is because you now have it under one roof and hopefully those who know nothing about the sport can either see a wider variety of chat or they can fook off back to where they come from.

Also if Ricky retires then the forum would go downhill anyhow

Plus it will be easier for the 5o to patrol . . .

I like the unification of the sites, also as someone mentioned not sure how the Hatton site would fair if he retired. I also like Froch so its good that its under one roof now. I much prefer the old look though

This one is good for being lazy and not having to go onto all 3, liked the layout of the Hatton one the best though

Now some kind person has sorted the colours out  I'm well happy  Smiley
Don't know if one site makes it easier for everyone involved but either way I'm happy.  I have tried other boxing forums and found them to be pretty rancid.
Always found livefight and the hatton forum a wealth of info and well thought out posts, debates etc.

I'm loving the new site, but like Hitman said, we need a resident German, can no-one track him down. Sad

Firstly, those who like the hatton blue can select it in their profiles - its under 'look and layout'.

With regards the present forum, yes it's nice to mix up some diehard boxing fans with general fans who like to have a more laid back approach to the sport.

With regards the Hatton and Froch sites, im thinking that they will be brought back to life at some point and then will probably have their own forums again.

At the end of the day, people can continue to post here or on all 3 again if they wish to.

But i do agree, it does seem like a good hybrid at the moment.

If all 3 websites are resurrected then I would be more than happy to have one forum, however, it poses some problems in that things that can be openly stated on a general boxing board cannot be stated on Ricky Hattons board. What I mean by that is that we always have to bare in mind that things said on Rickys site can reflect on him or will be seen to be associated with him.

It is for this reason that we have had to ban people in the past, but had they made similar comments on a generic boxing board then its fair game.

I hope that all makes sense.

At this stage the future of the Hatton site is still in the balance, once I have a concrete decision I will let you all know.

Great Topic Ian but what would I know.  Grin Wink

I have to admit that after the realization that the library of fight downloads on LiveFight had gone sunk in - I was mortified, then my umpteenth attempt to win the Prediction League was cruelly gone (I was 1st god dammit! for a change), I then was mightily relieved that Red had pulled a blinder and got this place up and running - Never in doubt  Undecided

This place has a great feel to it and lots of knowledgeable posters and characters - the mix feels right. It's Great to see posters/fans from 3 Great sites pulling together. Cool

Long Live the new forum. Grin

No It does make sense Gibbo.

Whilst on a Froch site if someone came on and gave him a kicking then they would be sacked after a warning, afterall it was his official fansite. Same goes for Ricky if someone is ripping the Piss, then it's a bit sacrilegious on their own fansite to do that. Criticsm is fine, but hate is something else which needs dealing with. Especially those who say "im a Froch/Hatton fan but....." then start ranting... week after week after week.

That said and understood, when its a general forum, there is no militia to shoot people that dont worship the ground that said boxer walks upon. Afterall it's not a specific site anymore, more a general boxing site. Which livefight always was (although with an affinity to hatton and froch as sister sites).

BUT an enemy of the site(s) still remains an enemy of the site and they will not be welcome if they have been booted off in the past.
