and how is stating mr paquiaos living conditions slating him? I was pointing out the facts to fil, thats not having a pop at manny. Also, ive nothing against manny, but i would like to see him beaten your right there, simply so his fans realise manny using his lucky pink toothbrush wont make him win. Not all of his fans are like this, but the majority ive come accross are

you're a hater Brick just admit it!!!  Grin  you f*cked up in your prediction of how Ricky was going to annihilate and I quote "tear manny a new arsehole" because Ricky is bigger than Manny, cuts of the ring well and has furious bodyshots. You also made the bold statement that he won't be able to handle Ricky's pressure look at how your prediction played out!  Smiley Wink

So fil1979, im a hater ( very childish word for a 30 year old man to use imo btw) because i, along with thousands of others and several boxing experts predicted ricky would be too big for manny? Are you an eric morales hater out of intrest as im sure you backed manny to beat him the 1st time around. If im such a 'hater' explain to me my prediction for manny vs cotto. I dont hate manny, i dont even hate his legions on bollock warmers, i jst dont care for them

Edit: i never said ricky was a ferocious body puncher, i dont think ive ever used the word ferocious in my life.

I dont recall commenting on rickys ability to cut the ring off either, although i may be wrong there.

This is a mega-fight between two of boxing's best and biggest stars. I don't care who wins - I just want to see it happen. I will say this, though - Cotto should accept the crappy purse split and demand that Manny agrees to let him come in at 147. It's Cotto's title. Why should he have to suffer to become something that he is not? I'm sure that we can all agree that cutting weight poses a danger to boxers. Why should Cotto be forced to fight in such a weakened state? If Manny doesn't want to fight a naturally bigger guy, he shouldn't make the challenge in the first place.

I think it's better all around for Manny if this fight were to take place at 147. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain in this scenario. And the public has no excuses. At this point, the whole mystique of Manny is his ability to defeat bigger and bigger opponents. That is lost if Miguel is forced to come in at an artificial weight.

How about a catchweight of whatever the two fighters want to come in at (not to exceed 147)? Let the punches fly and may the best man win!!!

Pacquiao-Cotto: Gacal Says Deal Has To Be 65-35
Posted by: Mark Vester on 07-04-2009.

A proposed deal for a welterweight showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto, for November 14 in Las Vegas, is inching closer to a deal. The bout, scheduled for a catch-weight of 145-pounds, is being negotiated by Bob Arum of Top Rank, who promote both fighters.

Most of the details have been hammered out with Cotto and his team, and now it's Pacquiao's turn to review the listed terms for the fight. Pacquiao’s adviser Mike Koncz, went over the details with Arum and plans to review the terms with Pacquiao this weekend.

Pacquiao’s lawyer, Franklin Gacal, said the deal should not be any less than a 65-35 split in Pacquiao's favor. He says the final decision will come down to Pacquiao.

“We haven’t seen it but if we don’t like it we make a counter-proposal,” said Gacal to ABS CBN News. “It’s Manny who will make the final decision. He will decide on the weight but regarding the purse it shouldn’t be lower than 65 percent for Manny,” said Gacal.
