This doesn't surprise me McGuigan was all wrong for Haye, After Haye got into the fight with Bellew ( my opinion ) he looked a level above Bellew. He's training back at this old gym fairly regularly it would appear he has the bug back for fighting its just a case of selling if his body can still deliver.

Its very hard to judge really....first two opponents Haye faced after the lay off were straight up bums and then the Bellew fight he got injured. He hadn't looked good even prior to the achilles snapping, but I do think he came in carrying an achilles problem and I think his own mindset for the fight was all wrong. Came in angry and arrogant looking for a one shot blowout and loaded up on everything.

McGuigan seems to have got Groves fighting well again and Haye and Groves has a similar fighting style with both coming through with Booth. I haven't seen McGuigan do anything obviously wrong with Haye, but clearly Haye wasn't happy with the arrangement for whatever reason. I wonder where he'll go now. Not sure how the land lays between him and Booth at the present time, but I wonder.....

Apparently McGuigan advised him to retire and that's the basis of them coming to an agreement to part ways.
